Rainout........Let's hit the Lanes.

Posted by Keith G.

Well in a surprise twist of fate Mother Nature decided it was in our best interest to take the night off from our scheduled doubleheader and instead polish up our bowling skills. With the field soaked from rain the ever eager Cobra Kai faithful decided to descend upon Colonial Lanes to burn off our steam and pent up energy we had been saving all week for Cessna Jets and the Beatdowns.

In typical Cobra Kai fashion the team showed No Mercy for the Lanes, unsuspecting patrons, and pitchers of beer at the fine establishment of Colonial Lanes. Johnny Blaze set the pace with high game of the night hunting down a turkey kill and blazing home an evening best 168. AC was not far behind bagging himself a turkey as well and posting a respectable 159. JW was sporting his new checkered board shorts that had the ladies doing double takes but did nothing for his game.

Alexa showed flashes of brilliance early on nailing down two strikes and a spare to start the night but having to cut it premature due to her romantic evening planned with her FIANCE Koko and JW at the Batman premier. Koko obtained special media passes to the exclusive premier but failed to come through for the rest of the team, but we will all be eagerly awaiting his review. Koko’s luck also came through as he stole $10 from myself as I wagered a bet that Crocodile Dundee (The First one) did not take place in New York City……….I don’t know what I was thinking…..one could argue the beer was clouding my judgment but I would disagree and just say I was just plain stupid. I also lost some side bets with AC and owe him $12 after wagering over/under pin action on the girl on the lane next to us that was using an unorthodox two handed heave bowling motion. Needless to say I lost every side bet as she kept nailing 8-9 pins every turn, she beat most of our scores and the best way I can describe her approach is a mix between shot putting and a barrel toss.

Richard and Ana came through with a solid outing besting Keith and Liz by three pins in the final action of the night. Anna carried the team but Rich saved his best work for last as the team found themselves in the middle of a heated punching bag competition. Rich stepped up and set the pace on the machine nailing a 9138 just a few points behind the bar’s top score…….held by a girl. We all gave it our best shot and I even tried to cheat by clenching my cell phone to gain extra power but to my chagrin it didn’t help and to make matters worse my cell phone imploded. Yes, that’s right I broke my phone. Needless to say if you text me or call me and I don’t respond for a few days now you know why.

Liz came through with a whopping 8879 score and Johnny Blaze just missed her score with a 8800 himself after slipping and missing the punching bag completely on his first try. AC became zoned in and focused on beating the girls score and dumped every last dollar in the machine and slammed home a Cobra Kai record 9144 making Mr. Miyagi and the dojo proud but still falling short of the nights champion……..a Girl named Sue.

All in all it was a fun night, but in no ways was it a replacement for the pure joy that would have come from a team Sweep on the diamond that was in our cards. Oh well, we will just have to channel our energy for this Friday as we take on Top Shelf at 6:30 and will come out with a vengeance. See you Under the Friday Night Lights.

Damn, I would've beat everyone at that punching game too!

I would've kicked it.

It was very fun. I was hoping JW would head butt it.
