Reminders for a party, for yourself, at your place--the Dojo is not a place to solicit friends--you should try mail order Russian friends..
Nice of you to tell me what I can and can't do with MY creation.
If I may recite a line inspired by Mr. Bill Cosby . . .
"I brought you into this Dojo, and I'll take you out!"
Also, I'll make sure to make just enough bugers so there's none for you.
Or better yet, maybe I'll make you a very special batch. If I may quote the great comedy "Waiting" . . .
"Don't fuck with people that handle your food."
Besides, Russia will not return my emails. Fucking Ruskies, you'd think they'd take care of one of their own.
MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Wish I could make it.
"Waiting..." such a great movie! Written by an Orlandoian. Dude worked at the Fridays on 50 by Fashion Sq Mall, and the Roadhouse Grill on 436 by Aloma.
See you Saturday Birthday Boyeeeee!
Thats true, I think I saw that on the special features on the DVD. The whole thing is based on a number of restaurants the guy used to work at.
To me, Shenanigans looked like a mix of Bennigans and Fridays. Maybe the guy worked at both at one time.
Definitely a classic movie.
You're right on Birthday Boy. The Shenanigan's in the movie was an actual Bennigan's restaurant in New Orleans that they rented for a month to shoot the movie. A couple of my Friday's friends went to the end of shooting wrap party. I don't know if the guy had ever worked for Benny's or not, but def mixed the two restaurants up. Remember the Benny's that used to be next to the Friday's on 50? All the Friday's people would go there after a shift for drinks and vice versa.
Here's some other info about the script. The writer sold the script to a movie company & they put in the contract something along the lines of "If we don't make this movie in a certain amount of time, we'll give the movie rights back to you." They didnt make the movie in time so either them or another movie company bought the script from him a second time.
Oh, and the writer makes a cameo in the movie also. Rob McKitrick or something...can't remember it for sure.
How about the restaurant used in Office Space? Def a mix between Friday's & Benny's also.
Yeah in Office Space I think it was more on the Friday's level because of the suspenders and "flair."
