The gold glove award is more loaded than the Pro Bowl. Writers vote on name recognition and reputation only. You guys should know that.

In fact, a more plausible theory would be that the others writers keep voting for him just so the Yankees keep him at short, so the other teams have more holes to hit through. That would be way more believable than that he earned it.

Looks like Regs "Has Hate," Good for you Regs, Hate does a body good.

And if you want to talk about what's "loaded," how about he opinion of a jealous Wisconsin fan that been backed up since '96.

That's a long time since you've cleared the pipes.

He's no Robin Yount! AHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!

What a joke comment. Robin Yount won MVPs at 2 different positions. Jeter doesn't even have one.

As usual you hang your self with your own rope Regs.

It's the MVP's that are voted on by those writers you say vote solely on name recognition.

The Gold Goves are voted on by only coaches and managers.

Just some more evidence that people who say Jeter is bad at defense, simply spout information they know nothing about to achieve an agenda.

Here's a switch, actual facts:
Jeter led the Majors with a career-best .989 fielding percentage at shortstop and committed a career-low six errors in 2010.

To be fair here are Yount's stats...

3× All-Star selection (1980, 1982, 1983)
Gold Glove Award winner (1982)
3× Silver Slugger Award winner (1980, 1982, 1989)
2× AL MVP (1982, 1989)

Those are cute! All done in that pressure cooker known as MILWAUKEE!

It's facinating to me the amount of people who disparage Jeter that don't even watch him play.

I watch him play and he makes difficult plays look easy time and time again. He also positions himself better than anyone else out there.

Who's better, the guy to dives and makes the play, or the guy who knew where to be in the first place?

And it's not to say that Jeter doesn't make his share of incredible plays as well, because he does and always has. I would put up his career highlight reel against anyone else in the game today.

It's so disheartening to see a guy like Jeter who does everything right, never in trouble, plays his heart out, wins championships and will retire the greatest shortstop of all time and 1st ballot hall of famer get treated with such disrespect.

I guess it really doesn't matter how you act, because people will look to cut you down no matter what. If Jeter gets his career treated with the blatent fippancy and hate that he gets, why should any star even try to be a model athlete?

It's really disgusting and shameful the way some people in sports talk about him.

Jim rome trashed him yesterday on tv.

That should tell you volumes.

what is funny is that on sportscenter today, one of the announcers made the witty comment when they were announcing the National league gold glove winners

" the league had originally tried to give the National league gold glove to Derek jeter too, but at the last minute they changed their mind"

Koko said...

Regs if you find that witty, then that explains a lot.
