Well, with the rumors swirling again with Richard's favorite topic of Brett Favre....I thought it would be a prominent time to discuss this website I found. It breaks down rationally the top 10 QB's of all time much like Koko did a while back. However, this list will surprise you and I am curious to hear the Dojo's reaction.
Yes, I know we are the heart of the NBA Finals.....but you can't resist a good old fashioned Football Debate. Hmmmm....Eli does not appear on this radar screen.

It's so hard for us to dispute that list because what do any of us know about the play of Bart Star or other QB's from that era.
All we know is the NFL films and the statsheet. We should just try and make a list of the QB's we've all seen and grew up with.
QB's are hard enough to rate because of all the intangibles that go along with that position. And none of us were around to see those golden age QB's. Here's my top 10 for my era.
10. Kurt Warner
9. Jim Kelley
8. Troy Aikman
7. Steve Young
6. Brett Favre
5. Tom Brady
4. Dan Marino
3. Peyton Manning
2. John Elway
1. Joe Montana
As always I'm gonna change it up. The people that belong in my top 3 are:
3. Peyton Manning
2. Tom Brady
1. Joe Montana
Honestly, I literally don't have enough hours to rip that ridiculous list. One thing, to me that is overlooked the most while rating anything is the "What is the first thing that you think about when somebody mentions that team" factor. So many factors go in to rating QBs. Bart Starr, although my dad's hero was never the first thing you thought about when you thought about the 60's Packers. Teams didn't game plan around stopping Starr, I'm sorry. The Packers were known as a hard nosed, hard hitting type team.
With that said, This is my list:
10.Steamin Willie Beamon
9. Roger Staubach
8. Tom Brady
7. Fran Tarkington
6. John Elway
5. Peyton Manning
4. Johnny Unitus
3. Dan Marino
2. Joe Montana
1. Brett Lorenzo Favre
Last (tie)- Rich Campbell, T.J. Rubley, anyone named Billie Joe.
How did I know Brett Farve was going to be #1 on your list. You and Keith would probably rank Favre #1 in every sport from womens tennis to horse racing. The bias is laughable. I also like Koko, am not ranking any quarterbacks prior to actually watching football.
Ok excluding all prior to the great day the Diggler was born.....
1.John Elway
2.Joe Montana
3.Brett Farve
4.Danny the Golden Boy Marino ( if only he won one damn soup bowl would probably be atop everyones list) Fuck my life!
5.Tom Brady
6.Peyton Manning
7.Steve Young
8.Jim Kelly
9.Warren Moon
10.Kurt Warner
Fuck Troy Aikman , many guys could have been great with that team built by the genius of Jimmy Johnson !
I feel the same way about Steve Young and Kurt Warner. They were handed the keys to a ferrari and they just didn't crash. I also think that Bradshaw is a little under rated because of the "stacked team" factor. He seemed to do whatever it took to win, but the defense and power running game was so good that in most games, he didnt have to do a whole lot. At some point you have to look at stats.
In every single game that Favre played in the last 16 years, when the defensive coaches sat down on monday to devise a gameplan to stop the Packers, the conversation started and ended with "how do we stop Favre?" That is not the case with many of the other guys. Entire gameplans revolved around stopping Favre. Same thing with Marino, Montana, Elway, Manning, Brady.
