Usually I would put something like this in the TechPhiles box, but since I was just talking about this very thing with someone I thought it deserved some more discussion.
There actually is a prototype football with sensors being developed that can accurately detect whether or not the ball hit the ground before the receiver catches it and with GPS whether it actually crossed the goal line or not.
Very cool. Here's the link:

I wonder what would happen if a qb does a sneak into the pile, has his knee hit as he is lunging forward, but still slides the ball over the line. With all the piling up, it would be very hard for the ref to see where the ball is at the exact moment his knee hits the ground, but the gps would still go off.
Good point Regs. I think that this device would be great to know far the ball goes up JW's ass.
Or Mikey's ass.
Why me Rich?? Your the one with an ass like a skippy jar, its been pumped with so much cock two of us could jump in
Skippy jar! LOL, good one mikey.
I like the flurry of Mikey posts recently.
Yeah, very interesting utilization of technology by the NFL. This is a prime example of why the NFL is so much more popular than baseball or basketball.
Baseball almost refuses to utilize technology and thus is quickly fading as America's past time.
Koko, where is the link? I would like to read more
Damn, sorry about that. I thought I included it.
It's on there now.
