Cobra Kai Show "No Mercy" in 18-6 Route

Posted by Keith G.

STRIKE FIRST STRIKE HARD NO MERCY SIR. That was the motto this past Friday as the Cobra Kai were hungry for blood after dropping our first game. Aloma Baptist had no idea what hit them and finally succumb to our teams greatest all around effort in club history to show no Mercy as Red Bug Lake had to invoke the mercy rule after we put 18 runs on the board to their 6.

It was a dream come true, and I had a blast out there again" Mikey Lemieux said after the game. "When I hit that ball, I knew I hit it hard, and what I remember is the week before that, they got me out with the same pitch. And this time it was 3-2 and I was looking and tried to put the good side of the bat on the ball, and it happened." Mikey turned in one of his greatest all around games crushing the ball for 2 run double that sparked a biggest rally of the evening.
"The easiest way to get fired up for a game is to have your back against the wall," The Kai’s utility player “JW” John West said. "We had our backs against the wall and we needed a win tonight, we just knew we couldn’t start the season 0-2. Capt. Tuci told us before the game we needed to play together and as a team and let’s play hard and just go have some fun, and you know what…that is exactly what we did”. West had two clutch hits in the game including a liner down the 3rd base line and single courtesy of Mikey’s gunslinger mentality running the base baths baiting the pitcher into a rundown Mikey eventually won.
Capt. Tucci had to remove himself from the field in the 3rd inning after cracking a tooth making a diving play in the outfield. With his mouth filling with blood the captain still had a solid night offensively and could be heard yelling let’s win this one and go gets some beers, I need to numb this tooth. X-Rays taken Monday proved inconclusive and it is believed Tucci will be back roaming the outfield like Sensei Kreese taking no prisoners and shouting “PAIN DOES NOT EXIST IN THIS DOJO.”

Aloma Baptist was no slouch out there tonight, I give them a lot of credit for the way they hit the ball, we just happened to put forth our greatest defensive effort and finally give Mad Dog something to work with in the field. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go ice my hand down from the bullets they were hitting to me tonight”, said Johnny Blaze who started the game off snagging two wicked line drives with his Miyagi sweep to put a stop to the Baptists attempt at a rally.
Capt. Tucci paired up our new cleanup hitter Rob “Roundhouse” Reger with the “Big Easy” Elliot Kreese in the lineup and the pair responded by driving hit after hit to a defenseless right field. “I just wanted to go out there and stroke the ball a bit and move some runners and not embarrass myself in front of the wife and kids” said Reger who also wanted to point out that the proper spelling of his last name does not include an “I” as originally reported when that Reiger was a part of the ongoing Mitchell investigation.
Well, we will see if the Kai can make it 2 in a row and continue their hot playing heading into Friday’s showdown with the Sharks @7:30. I will not be at the game as I will be scouting some talent at one of our farm teams and plotting a way to talk my hero Brett Favre out of retirement, but it looks like our young pheonom AC will get the call up from AAA. Let’s win one for Brett.
