Wow....The Milwaukee Bucks are now the HOTTEST ticket in town...with tix to their next game going for as high as $11,000!
Well, Well, Well....The Knicks finally pulled off the deal to acquire Carmelo Anthony after he held the Nuggest hostage all season....Good for Big Bad New York and another heist and corruption of the sports world. Don't get me wrong, I am glad this MeloDrama is finally over and glad he made it to the Knicks and MSG. But....when will this end in the NBA? Do we even need small market teams in the NBA anymore? After Deron Williams pushes out the longest tenured coach in the league he says he is heading to NY as well.
Are we headed for the downfall of the NBA as small market teams begin to fall apart and become meaningless....or is this just the start of an exciting 5 year run in the NBA with the Heat, Celtics, Bulls, Magic, and Knicks battling it out year after year??? Honestly, those matchups might draw me in more than anything...but I do feel for small markets and if the Magic lose D-Howard to a large market I would be very concerned.
A few more quick Wednesday morning hits.........the Knicks now have Sheldon Williams and Shawne Williams on their roster......what do you go with for his name on the back of the jerseys??? Also, reports out of Minnesota are that Justin Morneau might not be ready for the season because of his concussion he had back in July??? How is that possible? Football players sit out 1-2 weeks and are back banging heads....not questioning his toughness just really confused?
Also, Don't forget to read Koko's great movie review and Scotty's awesome adventure!
P.S. I would sure hope the Dojo's Resident NBA experts Blaze and DonJuan are stil alive to comment on this....hello????

Funny thing about the NBA, it has a salaray cap and everyone's worried about the league being ruined by top-heavy teams.
This is once again a product of reactionism and great overstating by people who do not really know anything about history.
In the past 30 years of the NBA, only 8 different teams have won an NBA championship. That's only 26% of the league to win a title in the last 30 years.
Meanwhile in baseball, the sport everyone says is in desperate need of a salary cap simply because they can't stand for the Yankees to win EVER, has had 19 different champions in the same 30 year timeframe. That's over 63%.
Funny that only now after a decade of irrelevancy, that a New York team is trying to get back into the spotlight, suddenly everything has to change. The system is failing.
Nah, there's not a New York bias in sports.
Oh and I was just as puzzled on the Justin Morneau thing as you Keith. There's got to be something more going on in that situation.
Sitting out over a year due to a single concussion is absurd. There's got to be a more serious underlying condition he is dealing with that they don't want to make public.
Seriously Keith! Stop whinning about NY!
GB just won a superbowl!
This just in..Derron Williams is a Net...seems to go against Prokorov total global foreign team, I really thought that was his backup plan, to have a foreign team and most people I know dont think foreigners are white people, but it would've been his take on America which seems to set up shop in your country and dominate with your product...N E HOO...
The NBA has always been a big market league...this shouldn't come as a newsflash..remember that between the lakers and celtics, they have pretty much half of all the NBA championships. I really think the NBA is trying to water it down with the expansion to Canada and other smaller cities. Unfortunately the NBA right now doesn't have enough superstar-city changing talent to spread around a league. Maybe each state should be limited to "2" professional NBA teams. Does California really need 4 teams? Imaginge Blake Griffin playing somewhere else and the buzz he'd bring? I feel what goes on in the NBA is cyclical. Talent comes and goes, titles still seem to be in either Boston or L.A. but the times may be a changing. I feel many more superstars are understanding that the best possible formula for winning is multiple superstars teaming up. One guy cannot get the job done, the NBA season is pretty brutal, and at times I find myself scratching my head at the scheduling. Players are starting to give up some of their proverbial pie just to get to the finals or even the playoffs. I think you will see this continue but it will taper off eventually. Some teams like the knicks are going to keep at it and the fans deserve it, the magic have no choice as the magic are the only sports team this town has and to have a superstar center leave again, well, i'm just going to leave that alone for awhile, Dwight would want me too.
The new CBA in the NBA will affect the ability to answer Keith's question accurately with franchise tag ideas and such as in the NFL, but buddy ball is here to stay, and honestly, it's been here all along. Someone name me the last time one player carried his whole team all the way and one multiple titles doin it, and dont include MJ, phenomenal cast and role players that still needed tweaking over the years with big names, at the time.
Also, now that Derron is gone, I want Sloan back in Utah..Just do it
Good Stuff Htiek, A few quick points: The NBA Sucks so I don't care but you knew this so I move on...Justin Morneau concust return after July don't forget fellow Brewer Fan Koskie ended his career after not being able to return after a concussion. I agree it is weird but maybe the definition is different?
Good luck NY , your going to need it.
Name the last poor defensive team to win a championship ??????????????????????
CRICKETS !!!
That's correct! It was the Fargo Crickets of 1952. They averaged an outstanding 45 points per game with a squad of 10 white guys. IMPRESSIVE!!! I believe they were contracted a long time ago with the Milwaukee Bucks.
