Average???

Posted by Koko

Can we stop this now please? As someone who has watched just about every game Eli has played, I've always known he was much more than an average or above average QB. However a lot of people just like to regurgitate what they hear on TV or talk radio.

Why does this guy have to keep proving himself? I know, it's an image thing. He's the little brother to the greatest QB in history (I know that's another debate, but he is). The "aw shucks" attitude. The soft spokenness. There's another guy in NY with a soft demeanor that's finally getting the nation-wide respect he deserves after 14 years, only because the evidence is now undisputable. I guess Eli will have to follow the same path as the Yankee captain for the rest of the country to fully realize just how good he is.

Oh by the way, it's only his 6th year playing. Eli is one of a handful of QB's you would want for a final drive to win the game. Any mistake he's made, forgotten. A minute left and no time outs, cool as ice. The pocket is collapsing and the defense is stretching the #10 into a #1_____0, he can get out of it.

Time for some respect, he's a Super Bowl MVP and a top tier QB, nuff said.

He has proven to me to overcome my average qb rating.
He is very clutch.
I still put a handfull of current qb's ahead but his ceiling is getting higher. Still struggles a bit at home but most qb's struggle at that shit stadium.
If only Hakeem Nicks didnt get hurt he would be catching all those passes Manningham caught and I would have the steal of draft !

Ah, thank you for the honesty Juan.

And yes that is an awful stadium to throw in when winter gets going. I'm glad this is the last year Eli has to throw in it.

I hope Nicks gets back soon, but they've been waiting on Manningham for the past 2 years. He has a lot of ability. If he puts up another week even close to that, he should be the starter.

forget that, how stupid is the new cowboy stadium! Lets put a big whole in the middle! No, no, not a total retractable dome, just a hole in the middel! And A big giant screen that punters are gonna hit! Oh and lets put the cheerleaders in platforms above the field like a strip club! Time to take Jerry Jones to the home! And lets put a shit team on the field!

I did find it odd that they did the hole in the roof thing again. I thought this new stadium would be a complete retractable roof for the money it costs.

I guess that hole is some kind of signature that they wanted to keep from the old stadium. It's a stupid signature though, most people looked at it as a design flaw.

Jones should've took some of that Billion and put it into a real QB.

Eli is going to destroy Tampa Bay this weekend. See you there Mr. Koko

Well Koko......I don't think many people would argue that Eli is just some average QB. However, I would not argue that he is a top 5 QB and I would not put him in the top 10....but you definitely have an argument for top 10 if you so choose to.

One could point out that Eli's career passer rating is a mediocre 76 putting him 27 ranked amongst active QB's....right behind the great Brian Griese and Jake Delhomme.

One Could also point out that he is in a great system to succeed. Great Coaching and solid run game...and also bolstered by a Phenomanal Defense over the years.

One Could also point out he strong armed his way onto that team by pulling the ultimate in Douche bag moves......waaaaaay worse than Tom Brady not talking to Suzy Kolber after a game. Lest we forget Eli was afraid to go to a team where he would be counted on to score a lot and he Cry Babied his way out of San Diego by flat out throwing a tantrum and refusing to play there.

But.....I am not going to go down that route. Because...ultimately I believe a QB is judged by wins and Losses.

And I give Props to Eli because of his win/loss record and Super Bowl Ring. So yes....he is a good on the precipous of great. Ultimately, stats are not as relevant as wins and losses so.....You have a winner here Koko and Rich....congrats enjoy.

ooops....that was me...Not Liz.

Oh yeah......and he didn't go to a traditional top tier powerhouse school....so he is good in my books.

Wow for a second there, I thought Liz was some kind of closet statistician.

I would love to hear the 10 QB's you think are better than Eli. I'm not saying he's the best in the league, but there's not doubt he's in the top 10. Go ahead, I dare you to list them so you can look ridiculous.

And throw that garbage "he's in a good system" crap right out the door. That might be legitimate with college players but in the NFL, that's a total cop out. The QB still has to make the throws. Following that logic, Brady is only successful because of the system as well.

Also, career numbers are not really the best way to judge a guy in his 6th year. Wait until he gets to year 11 or 12 for that. The more Eli plays, the better he gets and he's already one of the top two-minute men in the game today.

And thank god he didn't want to play in A Whales Vagina, then we would've had to endure Philip Rivers. I fucking hate that douche bag. So if you want to call out Eli for that, go ahead but ultimately his decision has already been justified.

In No Particular Order:

Brady
Brees
Peyton
Rothlesberger
Rivers
Warner
Rogers
Palmer?
Cutler?

Ok...I do stand corrected. Eli is definitely in the top 10.

What a pathetic QB Class to choose from.

Keith, you're a Green Bay fan. How can you misspell RoDgers?

Eli isn't elite but he is better than your average middle of the road qb's.

Here's a Q for you all. Do you think Whale's Vagina would be better with Eli or Rivers?

I knew your list would be pathetic.

Since you could not even realize that Jeter is the best shortstop of all time, let me help you with some of your selections:

Brady, Brees, Peyton, and Warner. Those I can give you.

Roethlisberger is not clear cut, but I'll even give you that for argument's sake.

Rivers - Please, show you can win in a big game. Show your personality won't hurt your own team. Show you can stay cool under pressure. Would the Giants have won Super Bowl 42 with Rivers? The answer is NO!

Rodgers - Are you serious? We're talking about real football here, not fantasy. No second year QB can be put over Eli. This choice is a hit towards your credibility.

Palmer - Even if you thought he has more potential, the guy can't get through a season. How can you possibly say he's better than Eli? Laughable.

Cutler - I'm pretty sure you were kidding with this one. If not, I'm very concerned about your mental health Keith.

And please don't besmirch the QB class just because you lost the argument. There are plenty of good QB's in the league. And Eli is one of the best.

I bet Eli ends up with more rings then Peyton!
