"The bats are what gets us or what we get got by."

The Cobra Kai's suffered another heart break this week, in our effort to take down creative flooring. The soul powered bats of creative flooring, were not hot for long on Friday, but when they were they were red hot. The first inning proved this statement, a grand slam that cleared the fence in left center. "I saw it and started running back, but then, it was gone" Capt Tucci did what he could for the ball but unless he had a ladder in his pocket he was not getting the ball.

As has been the case for the most part of the season our bats never really got going, but when they did get going it was in a big way. Capt Tucci came up big with an in the park homer, that later left his mouth bleeding due to some home plate celebrating. Unfortunately we were unable to keep the scoring going and we ended the inning.

Mikey came up big with several diving catches. "Effort" was only comment Mikey had to say about his catches. The ever ready Mike "Mad Dogg" had another stellar day defensively on the mound. "They hit 'em at me and I catch 'em" was all pitcher had to say about his efforts. Johnny Blaze had did hell of a game at short, it was a position adjustment for the leg sweeper but he seemed to find his comfort zone in the 3rd. "I don't talk about it, I be about it" Johnny Blaze.

This was not like some of our post lost post games, this one was different. We all knew we lost, but we were not down on ourselves as much as usual. I don't know if it was from having the Big E join us at gators or something else. Capt not being unable to drink to due medical reasons and one of leading drinking Keith away at a banquet in his honor the rest of team made up for their shares of the drinking. It was a 64 pitcher night, shy of the record, but with two drinkers down it was a good attempt. Everyone was a little on edge though, due to the rumors that the Sandy Johnson Johnny Blaze beef might "jump off" as the kids put it. Fortunately the night ended without incident.


It is all about "Effort"
