All great picks, except for one. Watchmen is only good if you like looking a big blue cocks you faggot!
Nice list Koka
I have never seen 28 days later or Wall e so I cant comment on them.
But the omission of Blade Runner on the list is a big miss for me. That is an underrated classic !
How bout Totall Recall ??? Thats better than the shitty independeance day , no?
I do like how high Planet of the Apes is. Man I havent seen that movie in a very long time.
How bot They Live starring RoddyRoddy Piper , hahahaa.
That should have made the shitty but good movie list !
It is a world ending movie
There's a big blue cock in that movie? I don't know Rich, obviously you pay a lot more attention to things like that.
I'll make sure to buy you a Dr. Manhattan doll for Christmas, since you such a fan of his organ.
And Juan, Blade Runner is easily one of the worst and OVERRATED movies I've ever seen. It's hailed as some kind of classic, but the story is sooooo boring, Harrison Ford gets his ass kicked all over the place. The only good scene is the opening one.
And Total Recal is not an apocalypse movie. It's just a movie about the future. The Earth is not in danger, it's about the colonization of Mars.
"They Live," god that's an awful film. But I love Roddy, that guy did some great HBO run-on-a-loop movies.
And yeah, Independence Day is shitty but it's good shitty. It's a great popcorn flick and the originator of those kinds of doomsday movies. Plus the model work was amazing and the last of it's kind.
Great Job Koko.
Although, I must Say "War Games" is my favorite on this list by leaps and bounds.
Man...that was an awesome movie. I haven't seen it in at least 10 years...we should have a viewing of that after the draft........man thanks for the reminder of that classic. That is right up there with the karate kid and Rocky on my childhood favorite flicks.
Book of Eli....hmmmm I have been tempted to rent that one many times...but I have held off cause it just seems like it didn't have enough....looks like I will have to rent.
Wall E? Really?
I love War Games too. Back in High School we used to quote that movie relentlessly.
"Get the President on the horn, bring us down to Defcon 4 until I can find out just what in the sam hill is going on around here."
And yeah Book of Eli is one of my new favorites. I'm not sure everyon will like it after first viewing, but the maint point of the movie is something I very strongly believe about how society originally started.
Plus Denzel in full kick-your-ass mode is always incredible.
And Wall-E is one of the top 3 animated movies ever made.
Nooo way man , independence day is better than Blade Runner.
Speaking the way you do about it your probably saw it later in life like most people did.
This stood as a visual classic to me when I was young along with Star Wars. I think the whole cocept in that movie is great.
It sluggs a little because it deals with the emotional part of the people and half droids on earth as according to the book.
Well to each is own.
NIce list. I'll have to rent some of them.
The argument is moot anyway because Blade Runner is not an apocalyptic film. It's just a dystopian one. The human race is not in danger of being wipped out anytime soon, nor has it been in the story's past.
However, the biggest problem I have with Blade Runner is the main character. Harrison Ford is set up as some sort of elite replica hunter and he spends the entire film getting his ass kicked by every replica he comes across.
SPOILER ALERT:
Especially at the end, he's totaly at the mercy of the main bad guy to spare his life. What kind of hero is that? He should have been killed numerous times in that movie, it was laughable.
Your a dystopian !
Would'nt that discount War Games (which I also love esp. Falken computer voice)
I mean the world is not going to end is it. Just Russia and the USA would go into a nuke war???
Yeah you're right, just a little WWIII action. Nothing to be concerned about.
Dude, pull back on the ganja. It's making you a little too relaxed.
Still doesent end the world. Does it Koko?
And also I included Blade Runner because your description of Wall E is of a dystopian world( you know post apocalyptic) so thought since you included it ?????
You're all screwed up. Dystopian does not mean post apocalyptic. It just means that things are fucked up, wheather an apocalyptic event happend or not.
For a movie to be included in a list of apocalyptic films, the story has to include a threat or fallout from an apocalyptic event. Also, apocalypse does not mean the end of the world. The only way the world truly ends is if it's physically destroyed.
The apocalypse has a ton of good vs. evil religious meanings, but for the most part it's a widespread universal destruction. Like a nuclear war.
There are no apocalyptic events in Blade Runner. It's just a really shitty future.
In Wall-E all the plant life has been destroyed making the planet uninhabitable for humans. That definitely counts as widespread destruction.
SO THERE YOU PINGA!
Did I use that right?
SO THERE YOU PINGA?
Me llamas el pinga grande por favor.
I was simply going along with your description of WallE and your use of the word dystopian I guess.
When I read dystopian the first thing that comes to mind is Blade Runner because that is what introduced to me to the definition when I was young.
Blade Runner is critically acclaimed as I just looked up , so it made me feel like the
BEEEEEEG WEEEENER ! JEW SAAAACK !
I used the word correctly. Wall-E is a dystopian film.
What you were doing is poor reading comprehension. Aren't there programs for people like you in your hood? RIF, get on the RIF wagon.
By the way, The Lord of the Rings films are critically acclaimed as well. Never underestimate the ability of a large group of people to have bad taste.
Rif Raf.I can read three languages and Im from the hood!
Wall e is dystopian like Blade Runner , great we agree ! Yay
Great, so you're wrong in 3 languages. What an accomplishment!
