How bout them C's

Posted by Prosthetic Johnson

Sully, I’m not a bandwagon fan but it is not looking good for Team O-Town. As I posted earlier, the Celtics look rejuvenated. Either that or they just got it together at the right time. Rajon Rando has stepped it up tremendously and has made the Celtics "his team". I'll say one more thing. Throughout the years going to the gym and being in sport/ workout classes in high school, you always heard people say "wipe that smile off your face!" I think Dwight Howard and the rest of the Magic are having way too much fun. During the playoffs you need to step it up and be serious. You need to hit hard and beat your body up for the benefit of the team. I don't think Orlando has that, at least this year. The series is not looking good for the Magic.

Them Sound Like Fighting Words from Johnson thrown right across the bow to Sully and Koko.

At Koko because, his mantra has been to be successful in sports we have to stop acting like adults and smile more!

And at Sully for obvious reasons.

The C'S are a veteran team that turned it up at the right time....and yes Rondo's emergence as one of the elite PG's in the league as helped them ride his energy and youth to the finals.

What a complete and total dissappointment for Magic Fans.

Rashard Lewis a $100 Million for a big bag of Poop in the playoffs. And the prodigal Son Vince Carter coming home.....and just laying an Egg......as Vince always does in the Playoffs. Brutal...Just Brutal!

I said it before the season began that Vince Carter would not be the answer the Magic were looking for, mainly b/c he always gets injured. At this point I think he should injure himself so the Magic might win one and not be swept. No ball distribution, one game with 3 offensive rebounds and no heart or soul. I would pick up a guy with less talent and all heart over skill any day. You need fight and determination to prevail in the NBA playoffs. The Magic smiled all the way through the Bobcats, then the Hawks. The Celtics punched them in the face in game 1. The Celtics punched them in the gut in game 2. In game 3, the Celtics just decided to kick them when they're down and rub their faces in it too. The Magic need to call Philips Arena in Atlanta and ask to speak to the "lost and found" dept. That's where I would look. That's the last time the Magic seemed to take the floor with a purpose.

Yeah Keith notice the use of the word "we." Not them in the NB fucking A.

There might be a small difference in the type of attitude needed in recreational softball than in the NBA where you're making millions.

Keith I would love to see you're preschool connect the dots pages. They must have been FUBAR'd big time.

Pro Jo, while I haven't made the comment directly to you, I have told the boys that the C's are looking dominant since they've gotten fully healthy...which is a scary thought. I've actually thought about sending you a message that says "looks like I was wrong about the Celtics." Even huge Celtic fan & ESPN writer Bill Simmons wrote in his column after Game 2 something along the lines of "While the Magic and Cavs built teams in the offseason to beat each other, they forgot about the Celtics and frankly, so did I." Everybody slept on the Celtics heading into the postseason. I was downright nervous the morning after after the Celtics went up 3-2 on the Cavs and told friends I was scared of the Celtics...and I've my fears have materialized.

The 2 biggest matchup advantages the Magic would have had over the Cavs (Dwight vs Cavs bigs & Jameer vs Mo Williams) had turned into more even matchups with Jam having to play HUGE just to match Rondo's incredible game. I've always said that Perkins plays Dwight better than anybody else in the NBA. With him being able to cover D12 & them not needing to double on him, it frees the C's D to stay at home on the Magic 3 point weapons.

Series breakdown. Game 1- Magic have horrible ball movement leading right into C's D strength. Pierce & Allen played incredible. Barnes was limitied by a back strain. Vince & JJ looked like the only Magic players wanting to win the game. C's try to run out the clock & stop being aggressive which leads to a Magic comeback but falls short.
Game 2- Magic play better with much better ball movement. Allen is silent but Rondo was huge. He did whatever he wanted and Jameer was invisible. If Jameer would've shown up like he did in Game 4, Magic probably win the game.
Game 3- Celtics did whatever they wanted to do on the court. Magic talked the talk but didnt walk the walk & quit in the 2nd Quarter. Every bounce went the C's way. I was ashamed of the Magic, SVG included.
Game 4- Jameer was aggressive with the ball. He can play like one of the best PG's in the league when he is aggressive. He took Rondo out of the game early. SVG finally decided to put Bass in the game. I've been waiting for this since Game 1. I figured he'd go to him in Game 3, but I wonder if the blowout stopped that or speeded up the substitution in Game 4. Pierce was great in the 1st Half keeping Boston in the game. Allen kept them in the game in the 2nd half. Dwight was doing work the whole game with missed free throws being his only negative. Vince had a bad offensive night but Rashard finally shows up to the series, getting open and knocking down a few shots. Great ball movement, finding open shooters, and Boston not coming out ready to play equals a Magic victory in Bean Town.

Boston's bench has outplayed Orlando's & that is a big reason of why the C's won the first 3 games. Big Baby has been great the whole series. Sheed has had a couple good games. Tony Allen has been pretty solid defensively. JJ has been the only good Magic player off the bench. Gortat has been schooled by Rondo a couple times in the paint. M "Peaches" Pietrus has been horrible.

Now home for Game 5 with the Magic knowing what is working vs the C's. This could get very interesting.

This could be an interesting series but are the C's going to fall four in a row? I can see the Magic winning the next game or two but that would be amazing.

Magic finally got it in their minds what it takes to win a game this series. They played excellent ball last night in Game 4. Dwight Howard was strong but needs to be even stronger. He got lucky with some of those rebounds. Jamier was awesome! He is MVP for the Magic at this point, but he alone can't win the games for them. I think JJ has been great as well.

The whole team was getting physical and that's what it's going to take to win this thing. Vince was still horible. The Magic need to stop with the threes at some point and drive the ball in a little more.

Just think how good Nelson would be if he spent as much time at the gym as he does at the Tattoo shop.

Jam is a pretty solid guy. It's not like he has Vince's lack of muscle toned arms.
