Have you ever had a say in what your taxes go to? I haven't. Where can I go to request what my money goes to? Never recieved that memo? I didn't want to spend money on a war. Why is it that Republicans are so eager to spend money on death and war in a heartbeat without any evidence, yet when someone wants to use the money to save lives you all get your panties in a bunch? Our taxes go to a lot of things that are much worse then this!

Are there gonna be people who use the system to get what they don't deserve?.....of course, thats just how life works. You can't stop every asshole from getting over on you. But if one person who really needs the benefits of this bill gets it along with 5 people who just are lazy, isn't it worth it? I mean your gonna let someone die so someone else doesn't get a "free ride"? Sorry but that sounds pretty selfish, childish, and stupid to me!

And when a person goes to the emergency room without insurance they can not turn them away so your already paying for some of this!

Ok it was a close vote, so? If it passes by one vote it goes through! Again, THATS HOW IT WORKS!. And how can they bring up the "Majority of people" argument without laughing? Remember back in 2000 when we elected a president who did not get the "majority vote". What did republicans say....."thats how the system works, we go by the electoral college, thats the system"

Besides the majority are usually wrong, i.e. slavery, the earth is flat, the holacaust, etc. Especially when it comes to change! We are a race of bandwagon jumpers. All the best ideas usually come from people who think outside the box and go against the grain.

We vote a guy in, tell him here do what you can and think is best (within reason of course, it is a democracy for the people and by the people, they obviously have to be kept in check, we don't want him starting any crazy wars or anything!) and after the 4 years we can keep him in or vote him out. Let him do his job for 4 years. We gave Bush 8 years to fuck this country up, lets give Obama at least 4 to try and fix it!Theres nothing he's gonna do that can't be reversed, thats whats great about our system. Why does every person think they are so smart and knows whats best while they monday morning qb everything, yet I don't here any better ideas being passed around, you want a better bill...THEN COME UP WITH ONE! They had 8 years to come up with something and didn't!

FUCK IT! I'm going with limbaugh to Costa Rica! How do you say Oxy Cottin in spanish? its probably the same right?

What's funny is that, for most people, premiums will be raised in the long run now that employers are required to cover their employees and insurance companies are required to cover pre-existing conditions, who require a lot more health care than others. Not that I'm against that, but people who require more health care should have to pay more than people who don't.
The bottom line is that the people who will be hurt by this are the healthy people with jobs, who work very hard for the money that they have. All of those people will see a drastic increase in health care costs to make up for the others.
To go against your "Jesus" argument, now that it is confirmed that tax payer money can in some cases be used to fund abortions. I am fairly certain that Jesus would have a problem with killing babies.

And Goat....just for a fun biblacal fact back in Jesus time the worse kind of Jew around was a "Tax-Man" or the Tax Collector.

The Tax Collector was viewed as an outcast almost as much as the Lepers or other disease ridden humans. The Other Jews felt the Jewish tax-man betryaed them and turned to the dark side to side with the government and take taxes from their own people of which the Jews hated to pay taxes above anything.

Kind of Ironic....

This previous statement is not a reflection of current Jewish people just a simple tid bit of knowledge you can find in most history books.

Is Jew an innappropriate slang term??...........if it is I apologize I just didn't feel like typing out Person of Jewish Decent.

First of all I'm not saying this is a perfect plan. Of course its not, but its a start to building a better health care system. It opens up the door to fixing things. So in the short term less people will die vs. having some people pay a little more....I'll take that! Cause call me crazy but i'm okay with paying a little more if it means people living and making our quality of life better.

Capitalism is ok when used right but its being GROSSLY ABUSED in this country and needs to be reigned in a bit! Health care was becoming all about profit and not about saving lives. As far as a "drastic" increase in health care costs for healthy so called "hardworking" people, i just dont think thats fact, sorry but I don't. I think its being imbellished. Do you honestly have a problem with a girl getting an abortion if she was raped! do you really?!?! Or if its endangering the mothers life? I just cant fathem that kind of thinking. I believe the executive order Obama signed made it so thats the only way it would be coverd? And i'm certain Jesus would be okay with that.

It might be a good idea not to follow the thoughts and opinions of people back in so called biblical times don't ya think? They did lots of things back then that were more then a little "off". Things are a bit different now we are somewhat more evolved (some of us). We all hate it when we look at our check and see what has been taken out, thats agreed but its a neccessary evil.

Don't take the jesus and christian bashing personal. I hate all extremist religious types, "jews" included. Hell....especially "jews"!
Its just that the christian extremists are the ones mainly ruining this country right now so they are more "on topic" at the moment. They've actually pretty much always been the trouble makers in history but thats another discussion.

My comment about abortions was not a personal opinion (shockingly I am pro-choice), it was about the fact that i doubt Jesus would ever support killing his father's creations, regardless of the circumstances.
Being against this bill is not about not wanting more people to be covered. It is about my disbelief that the government can do something this large, based on the failures of many other government organizations. I don't think it will do what is promised and i think it will go way over budget (like every other government run entity). And when it is time to "pay the piper", it is going to be me and you picking up the tab.

I have enough responsibility in my life. 5 kids, a high pressure job, ect. I don't want to foot the bill on anything else. Sorry.

Also, I looked up the leading causes of cancer and numbers 1 and 2 are obesity and smoking. They are way ahead of everything else and, in most cases, preventable. I believe in freedom and I hate when freedoms are taken away from people, but now that the tax payers are paying, we should have a say in what people do.

Okay i agree the govt. fucks up a lot of stuff. But the private sector doesn't have a great track record either lately (i.e. HEALTH CARE!, Wall Street, etc.) so its really a toss up isn't it? You can't say govt. has never run anything well. Cause dealing in absolutes is not feasable.

I totally understand the not wanting to foot the bill on anything else with everyday pressures and all but why start here? Soly focusing on where tax money goes why the big concern over this? Why not start with a war that was unjust or the million other bullshit things are taxes go to.

So like i said earlier if you get sick cause you can't stop shoveling in the ho-ho's and smoking I agree you should have to pay more, whatever disease you come down with whether it be cancer or something else. But thats where my if 1 person who needs it vs. 5 who abuse it theory comes in.

And if jesus were alive today he would be a fat, pot smoking, hippie! just thought i'd throw that in!

You know really back then people were a lot smaller in height so he actually would be close to if not a midget today. A tiny, very dark skin, kinky haired, jew! Where do they get the profile they show in churches from? I mean the cross they used to crucify him was probably no bigger then the one 50 Cent wears around his neck! Just somthing to think about before you go to sleep!
