You've got to be kidding me!

Baseball is easily my favorite sport. But when something like this happens, I'm embarrased to be such a big fan. MLB needs to get this ridiculous crap out of the game and get instant replay in it.

John Miller has it wrong in that clip, it's not Mattingly who should be embarrassed, it's Major League Baseball.

That's exactly the competitive edge I would look for...NOT!

Really, seriously? The second mound visit should be considered if you pass the lines(batter box, foul lines,i.e.) or if he spent more than 10 seconds on the revisit, but what was that, less than 5 seconds?

Managers should show a little courtesy to guys who have never coached full time or just a little professional courtesy when they're sure his intentions were not maligned. What really would have changed in his mound visit?

I want to win bad like the next guy, but it speaks volumes about your character and your team when your willing and wanting to get a win due to a "technacality".

I agree Blaze it's a total bush league move by Bochy, the Giants manager. But you could also make the case that he's a great manager for paying attention so closely to what's going on, which is the most important thing a manager has to do.

Let's attack the real source of this garbage and that's the overstayed and outdated regime that run baseball. It's time for a new commissioner and to put some people in charge of the game so new generations will not simply laugh at a sport where they refuse to use instant replay and games can be decided on whether or not a manager steps on the dirt twice while talking to his pitcher.

The most glorious thing about baseaball and the trump card over all other sports, is its lustrous history. ON THE FIELD!!! It's time for the "mickey mouse," garbage that happens after or between plays to go away. I don't want any team to go through a 162 game marathon of a season only to have it be decided by an inane rule or an umpire's asinine interpretation of it. One game can mean everything in a sport where only 4 teams make the playoffs in each league.

Americans want to make fun of soccer and some of the rules they have? Time to look in the mirror at our beloved baseball because in a lot of ways its archaic and unrelenting grasp on the dark ages is making it much more of a "silly," game than any flop or yellow card soccer can come up with.

Stop being such a Ninny.

The Umps admitted they would not have done anything about it...but once the other manager brought it to their attention they had to.

And, if your saying you would have let a rule violation slide because you feel sorry for Mattingly being an idiot and not knowing the rules...well your just lying or you don't belong managing in the majors.

Bye the way, in case you were unaware Managers get paid a lot of CASH to make sure they do everything within their powers to win the game. I say kudos to Bud Black for doing everything within his powers to help his team WIN the game....that is the point....it is Professional baseball.

I find it hard to believe either one of you would have said.....ahhh let's not say anything because we feel sorry for Mattingly...he just doesn't know what is he doing.

Koko of all people....is that what big George would want his managers to say???? I think not....I think Big George would want his manager to utilize every single thing to his teams advantage.

Is it unfortunate what happened? Yes....but the rule is the rule and Donny Baseball would be the first to say he was in the wrong and it was HIS fault.

You know what Keith, I'm starting to suspect something about you.

YOU CAN'T READ!!!

I think you have people read things to you, that's why you so grossly misunderstand everything that is written. It would also explain all those self-help books you collect.

And by the way it's Bochy who is the Giants manager, not Bud Black. And I clearly said he was a very good manager for doing what he did even though it is ticky tack. A manager is suppose to catch everything whether it's a bush league rule or not.

The whole point of what I wrote was against baseball having such a ridiculous rule still on the books. It just shows how outdated baseball has become with its current administration.

Sure Mattingly should have known that rule, my argument is that no one should have such a waste of space rule in their head to begin with.

It's pathetic and makes the game look silly to be affected that way.

Put the Brakes on Koko.

Truth be told I started my post before you responded to Blaze...and after I hit publish your post was there and I did realize you clarified a bit and it made my post seem less effective.

However, Johnny was arguing that Bochy should not have done that for some reason.....like it was a revealing a bad character trait or something. The point of the post was skewed after Johnny posted and I was simply responding to the direction of it.

Every game has some stupid rule we can all argue......Remember when the Spurs derailed Steve Nash and the Suns after that horrendous stepping over the line from the bench rule?????

BREAKS DO NOT EXIST IN THIS DOJO!!!

It's 100mph 24/7. You should be ashamed for that statment DOUCHEBAG!

I think Bochy did exactly what he was suppose to do, no one can critisize him for doing it, but I can certainly crucify baseball or any other game that claims to be a sport while having such an asshat rule on the books.

AND GET INSTANT REPLAY ON THE BASEPATH TOO! What year is this?

That was a pathetic call. The Giants manager is a pussy for mentioning the technicality.

And to add insult to injury, it comes out the always astute umpires got the damn rule wrong to begin with.

According to the rule, Mattingly was suppose to be warned, thrown out of the game and the pitcher be allowed to throw to the batter up at the time before being ejected.

So now we a have rule that directly costs the Dodgers a win and the officials on the field do not even know the proper way to handle it.

How does a multi-billion dollar professional sport let their games be held hostage to such ineptness?

And will anything be changed? Nah, their just going to "look into it."

Selig is an ass clown, and needs to be removed.
