So I knew that this damn day would come and I've struggled with the choice of putting this abomination on our sacred Dojo or not. I've chosen to do so because everyone must see just how much of a total disgrace this film will be.
"Put on the jacket, take off the jacket." ARE THEY FUCKING KIDDING ME!!
How about, "SUCK MY DICK, KISS MY ASS!" Show me that move ya little fuck is what you are!
Pat Morita is doing crane kicks in his grave right now, and that's gotta be fucking uncomforable.
They even have the big brass juevos to make fun of the fly catching scene and play "You're the best," in the background. HOLY SHIT! I CAN FEEL A THEATER ARSON COMING ON!
Oh and by the way, IT'S CALLED THE KARATE KID, NOT THE KUNG FU KID, YOU ASS CLOWNS!!!
I say we get Zabka and Maccio and we get Sensai Kreese and we all go down to Mr. Miyagi's grave on opening night and throw a big F-U bon fire in our Cobra Kai uniforms, playing soccer with boom boxes, racing dirt bikes and classic detroit cars, and we get Bananarama and Joe Esposito, we put on concert while we all sing along and crane kick the everliving shit out of a kidnapped Jackie Chan! Right in his little Chinese nuts.
Now watch this to get the bad taste out of your system.

Cmon Koko....That wasn't that bad.
I like the fact they had the respect enough not to just rip it off completely and just add Jaden to make it more Hip.
At least they changed the story line up a bit and moved it to China/Japan.
As much as I hate the fact they re-made it it doesn't make me want to vomit......is that so bad?
Swami Sayz:
I have to agree with Koko. It is an abomination on the horizon. I am all about ripping a move and recasting more contemporary actors, but “The Karate Kid” is this light seems terrible. First off, like Koko stated, it’s “The Karate Kid”, and karate is a martial art form derivative of Kung Fu, but completely Japanese. I would have even looked the other way if they even called it “The Kung Fu Kid”! Not only is it insulting to the legion of loyal “[The] Karate Kid” fans, bit to all Asians. I thought the bleeding heart PC movie makers of this generation would attempt to be less insulting. And don’t get me wrong, I am all about Jackie Chan. From his early ‘70s horribly dubbed and grainy ancient Chinese Shaolin movies when that one damned student killed the master and he must avenge the master’s death, to the goofy ‘90s “drunken-style” fumbling lovable characters that our generation connects with, he has always been a staple in martial arts films. However, teaching the ancient ways of the temples to the token black kid in town because he got beat up once; I don’t think I am on board. And Jaden Smith? OK, the kid can act. But nepotism can only get you in the door; just because you can doesn’t mean you should. For a more recent case in point, please reference Sully’s post involving a picture of Tucci. And at least Daniel Larusso was a believable character that could fight back. Smith looks likes he is 8 years old and weights under 100 lbs. I don’t care if you got your black belt from John Kreese or the local shopping center dojo; you aren’t doing much at 8 years old. So when this movie comes out, I move to play that season under the lights in memoriam in respect of “The Karate Kid”. Because I think this new film will do what not even “Karate Kid III” and “The Next Karate Kid” could have done; kill the franchise. Maybe we should all “take of the jacket, now put it back on” instead of perfecting “wax on, wax off”, “paint the fence”, and “sand the floor”? And maybe we should start looking for a new team name?
NOT THAT BAD!!!
That's it Keith, you are on friend suspension. Don't even talk to me at the game today.
I'll root for you at the plate, but that's it, unitl you retract that statement we are done man. What a disgrace to the dojo.
This movie is the biggest slap in the face of a classic that I've ever seen. Forget the fact that the kid is a shitty actor, he's looks like he's 10 years old, and Jackie Chan is teaching him Kung Fu, not Karate. All of those atrocities aside, they are just raping the name "The Karate Kid," simply to bring in some assholes who will go to see anything even remotely nostalgic. They should have just called it "The Kung Fu Kid," and there would be no problem at all.
"No, look. I do mind. Koko minds. This will not stand, ya know, this aggression will not stand, man."
Ok....For the sake of Team Unity I retract my Statement.
There will be an offical press conference at noon where I will vaguely apologize.
However, With that being said...............I still don't feel it is a complete abomination. Please allow me to explain:
My original fear was they would rip it off completely and just put Jaden Smith back in the All-Valley Tournament and basically have the Karate Kid 2010 with some hip-hop flavor. So, I was relieved to see this was not the case. It was a matter of perspective....which would make you more sick.....the latter that I described or the move to Japan?????
Again.....when I first heard of this I was apalled but after seing it wasn't as apalling as I originally feared.
A matter of perspective for Example:
If I told you last Friday at Gators Sully got really drunk pissed on the jukebox, smacked a girl on the ass and said yea baby you love it.....right in front of her boyfriend....you would probably shrug your shoulders and say.....oh that Sully.
But, If I said Kenji came and played for us then he proceeded to do all the latter........You would be shocked and apalled....like what??? Are you kidding me........
And there is no connection between Kenji and the Kung Fu/Japan correlation I was just trying to think of a guy that played on our team that was relatively low key and would not get out of control........shocking I couldn't think of anyone like that in the past few years.............Not that there is anything wrong with that.........
My Point: I had very low expecatations for the movie and when I throw up in my mouth after seing the trailer I was relived.....not saying I liked it at all just relived it was not Hip-Hop Karate Kid 2010.
Wow, that's some apology.
But the trailer still makes me want to tie up the producers and beat them with a steal wrench in front of their children.
you guys do know that the kid is will smith's son, right?
Whaaaaaaatt....That changes everything.
it makes it even worse!!!
Really Keith & Koko? You didn't know that is Will Smith's son? Yes, it makes it worse b/c it's like he's the golden boy & was just given a role to jumpstart his acting career in front of a large audience.
Keith, nice write up of me slapping a girls ass in front of her boyfriend. I'm sure I have done it before.
Who said I didn't know it's will Smith's son? Everyone know's that. We've talked about it way back when this movie was green lit.
I know who the kid is, who cares. He's still a shitty actor. He was actually better when he was younger. He's getting worse as he ages. And why does he still look like he's 9 or 10 years old? Looks like he's getting the height from his mom, that sucks.
