Wow....what a Superbowl. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Tucci for an Awesome Party!
It was an exciting game right up until the end. Unfortunately, for some of us Reggie Bush never came through on our Prop Bet at 10-1 but oh well, neither did Koko's guaranteed lock of Peyton Manning at a paltry 1-1.
Is the SuperBowl more about the event or the Football? Personally, I think it is turning into the event. At kickoff there were about 34 people gathered around the big screen eagerly watching the game. There was a point during close to the entire 3rd Quarter I think there were 5 still watching....and it was a good game. Not saying anything just making an interesting observation. Personally, I don't think my wife still knows who won the game........or who was in it...but she had a blast none the less.
I also find it very ironic that all week we were spoon fed how Peyton Manning is the greates QB of all time. The Greatest game manager. He never makes mistakes. He knows how to pick apart defenses....and ultimately it was his mistakes and inability to pick apart the Saints that was their demise.
It is also interesting to note the way CBS ran the programming. It was almost like they went at it very Business like as we all heard so many comparisons to Peyton Mannings work ethic as "Buisiness Like". But they really seemed to reach for the older demographic and the "Murder She Wrote" Crowd rather than American Idol crowd. It was an interesting contrast to Fox's Ryan Seacrest celebrity party driven broadcast of the Super bowl a few years ago. Personally, I think CBS wanted a business like program that actually shunned Vegas.
Winners and Losers
Speaking of Vegas.....let's compare some popular prop bets CBS heavily influenced that mayu have gone the other way if Fox aired it.
-Shots of Archie Manning? (I picked 17) I think we tallied 1?
-Shots of Kim Khardesian? (I think we tallied 0 on this one....which is stunning)
-Will a member of the WHO smash a guitar? (No)...Cmon that is their signature move????
-Whom will the MVP thank first?......Drew Brees slyly answered that question by referencing all the candidates but never actually thakning one?????
Super Bowl Ads
Personally, I enjoyed the Snickers Ad with Betty White and Abe Bogada. Good One.
I also for some reason like the google ad, the Little Kiss Ad and the Eco Police one.
Other than than not very memorable ads this year....pretty weak. Plus, the second highest anticipated ad in years the Boost Shuffle I thought was atrocious.....I even went to their site and it is worse.
Also, I kind of enjoyed the Tebow ad and it is funny how it was so NON offensive to anyone but it created so much hype....brilliant move. How can anyone complain about a Son enjoying his Mom's company. Now, Yes I'm sure if you go their website it has a more political appeal...but the ad in and of itself was so harmless.
Just a few of my thoughts......Interested to hear the Dojo's reactions.

Yeah the commercials were pretty weak.
And if the bet was for Brees to be MVP, I would have been much more interested.
Absolutely great party thrown by Mr. and Mrs. Tucci. Thanks guys.
Also, I think I'm still drunk.
Great time guys. Thanks. Sorry I had to bolt, but I had an early morning appt and a 9 month preg wife.
I think cbs was terrible all the way around. The commercials were boring and they didn't have very many intriguing story lines.
Conspiracy theory!!!!
I just received some insider information that the origional Gatorade spilled on Payton was Red. The reason it looked orange is because, in order to properly drench the coach, lemon lime Gatorade was poured into the red, thus creating an orange look to it, but in fact the container used was the red Gatorade container.
Yes, great party. Tons of great food. Thanks Tucci's, you pulled out all the stops.
As for Peyton & not making mistakes...I was listening to espn radio this afternoon (not sure who was on the air at the time maybe Cowherd) but they were talking bout NO's D coordinator Gregg Williams saying something along the lines of 'You can't throw all your haymakers at Peyton in the 1st Q or he will figure out your D by the 4th & comeback to win the game.'
Sounds like Nawlins used trickery the whole game by using bland defense against Peyton in the 1st allowing him to dominate the beginning of the game before changed it up & confused him in the 2nd half.
Commercials were lame. 2 out of every 3 seemed to be Bud Light or Doritos.
Before yesterday, I don't think I could've named any songs by The Who. I think it's time they update "Pinball Wizard" to something relevant today. "Video Game Wizard" maybe?
Glad I stopped drinking after the 1st Q, I woke up without a hangover today.
