Wow, Soon after Joe Torre's "A-Fraud" revelations Sports Illustrated actually becomes the epicenter of sports (and no it's not for the Swimsuit issue coming out this week) by publishing a story detailing A-Rod's positive test results for 2 different anabolic steroids in 2003.
I can see Mikey's reaction to this: "You mean A-Rod might have been poked in the ass with something? Can't say I'm shocked"...
Anyways, what a gripping scandal baseball has on their hands here. The potential savior of baseball is now being dragged down with the dark ages of baseball. It looks like we have our new hot button sports topic that will be discussed incessantly for the next six months...........I guess Brett Favre's return won't hog the sports talk circuit like it did last year. Just another example of the evil empire doing everything in their powers to win.......Yes, Yes, I know he was a ranger at the time but I could not resist.
The crazy thing about this is that it actually makes Jose Canseco look like the only guy who is consistently telling the truth on this matter.
Last March, Will Leitch wrote about Canseco's book, Vindicated, in which Rodriguez is tied to steroids.
As for Alex Rodriguez, Canseco says he didn't inject Rodriguez, but that he "introduced Alex to a known supplier of steroids." Canseco didn't mention Rodriguez in the first book because he "hated the bastard." He was worried that people would have "questioned [his] motives" had he included Rodriguez.
Why all the hatred, you ask. Well, Canseco claims that A-Rod was trying to sleep with Canseco's wife. Apparently, even after Canseco had been nice enough to help A-Rod find a friendly steroids supplier, A-Rod kept calling Canseco's wife.
And, in case there's any further confusion about Canseco's true feelings, he ends the chapter by saying:
So A-Rod, if you're reading this book, and if I'm not getting through to you, let's get clear on one thing: I hate your fucking guts.
It's hard to admit it, but it looks like Jose Canseco was right again.
Wow, Why does a guy like A-Rod continually try to sleep with high profile women? I mean is he that buddy of yours that is so insecure that he continually tries to hook up with high profile women just to keep up his bravado even though it constantly gets him in trouble???? No wonder nobody in the Yankee locker room likes him much.
Anyways, I'm curious to see everybody's reaction to these "Allegations." Also, I know this is off topic but I had to jot it down while it was on my mind.......this could potentially spark another post (Calling Koko) on Unreal Movie plots that smart people see through.
So, I was watching "Major League" yesterday and I can't help but wonder what coach in his right mind would have batted his struggling, aging, and limping veteran catcher 2nd in the order behind Willie Mays Hays?
I mean I don't think this has ever happened in MLB history where the hobbled veteran bats 2nd? When Jake Taylor gimps through that bunt at the end of the game was that all part of Coach Brown's master plan? I just don't think there is any coach that would bat Willie Mays Lead-off and then Jake Taylor 2nd?????? I mean that might have been a decent spot for Dorn but not Taylor????

Everybody knows Jake Taylor was on steroids.
How else could that broken down body make it all the way through the season and beat out the throw to first base to win the divison?
Heart Power!
"Once a player has made a commitment to a team and a way of life, nothing will stop him short of success"
History cannot be rewritten. This era will have to be know as the steroid era. Just suck it up and police the league from now on.
Totaly agree Rich....it never bothered me too much knowing that at least 70% of all major sport athletes have done roids.
I have said it all along , A-ROD has been doing it since high school.
I thought it was fun watching players mash the ball out of the stadium. Most estimates say that over 50% of all players did roids. If that is true, A-rod didnt actually gain anything by doing it too. The only thing tainted would be his career stats. Remember, steroids were legal in baseball until 2004.
