Great addition to EBAY.
I stumbled across this article and thought Koko and Kluge would get a kick out of this Yankee legend's autograph. According to the article nothing bad, but apparently the Old Mick likes to sign autographs after he has put a few back.......
Man, I love these funny little stories that come out. Again, it must be difficult being a celebrity in today's tech saavy world. Imagine if people at Gators were reporters roving for a story and they overheard us up to our old antics after a game. I can only imagine the great stories that could come from that.
OK, so I have to do a mini-rant Blaze is Burning style just to fire up the dojo and to keep my sanity. First of all just in case anyone travels to Atlanta their Expressway system is set up in a Circle instead of the traditional East-West set-up the rest of America follows. I recently went there and assumed my trek back to the Airport from the hotel would simply be the opposite of the way I got there........Not So. Thus, I missed my flight and had the unfortunate opportunity to spend a whole day at the ATL airport.....Brutal!
I came to the conclusion that a trip to the airport is the last real micro-cosm for a true worldly analogy. With technology the way it is people don't have to interact with other people as much as they used to anymore. Thus, Americans really don't know how to truly interact with other people face to face. I spent the whole day watching people wander around the airport not knowing what the "F" is going on and being completely oblivous to the people around them. It is kind of a larger metaphor for life. There were people who knew where they were going and were in a rush but then there were idiots who didn't know (me most of the time) and were looking up at screens or down at their cell phones, or simply talking or texting on their phone while wandering along down the narrow stretch of the airport terminal. I could not believe how confused the Herd of America looks. And the Confused people slow down the one's that know where they are going. It is kind of like the mess we have in America today. You know the financial crisis. The Mortgage mess caused by people spending out of there means and greedy businesses taking advantage of them and then dragging everyone else down with them.
I mean you could not walk in an orderly line to your terminal. It's similar to I-4 but if one lane had somebody going 15 MPH, one lane somebody was pulled over checking their text messages, and the other lane in the middle had people trying to drive anywhere from 50-85 MPH........Total confusion and bedlam.
Plus, I saw this little kid puke all over that walkway and hundreds of people didn't even notice and just kept walking by right through the puke while they talked on their phones or jammed to their Ipods.
I truly think Computers are planning their takeover "Terminator" style because anyone under the age of 35 at the airport was completely and totally addicted to their machine of choice (Cell Phone, IPOD, and/Or Crackberry). And believe me, the Crackberry is the machine of choice for today's America. It is even amazing to see Older people even elderly addicted to their Crackberry to the point of they are totally oblivous to the world around them and even forget to order while waiting in a large line to get coffee.........I mean honestly you can't stop emailing while it is your turn to order? If there are 25 people in a rush to order something then when it comes to your turn it should be a law that you cease and desist from your machine to interact properly with the person trying to take your order so the line can continue moving in an orderly fashion.........really I don't think that is too much to ask.
Allright, one last rant. With the cut-backs in Airlines I also had the displeasure of feeling first hand how important it is to not miss your flight. Each flight I tried to catch stand-by was overbooked on average by 10 people. The poor agent had so many things going on she didn't want to deal with people. She had the audacity to tell me she didn't have time to help me figure out my flight and I might as well rent a car cause I had slim to none chance of catching another flight. I had to remind her that, correct me if I'm wrong but that is her job to help the customers get where they are going, even if they miss a flight. I mean that doesn't make me some monster. I later found out that U.S. Airways (the carrier I was on) used to fly over 600 flights a typical day......now they fly just over 300........and thus the reason all the flights are way overbooked.
OK, Kids if you made it through this I will buy you a shot Friday night...........and Who is making a recap of the game??????
Maybe this will inspire us a little........let's hit the damn ball tonight !
Guys I know this season is rough, but for the love of Pete please win a damn game. Show some kai pride and strike hard strike fast and show no mercy to at least one time this season, thank you.

In light of Reverend Dinger's birthday I present this clip, honoring his good name.
This is why Alec Baldwin has hosted more than anyone else. He'll do the stuff no other big celebrity will do.

Here's a little music news from the BBC. I can't wait for this album.
"Eminem's long-awaited comeback single has broken a download record and topped the US Billboard singles chart.
Crack A Bottle, which also features Dr Dre, has sold more than 418,000 online copies, the most ever in a first week of release.
The previous best was Live Your Life by rapper TI, which shifted 335,000 downloads last October.
The new single comes ahead of Relapse, the first new album from Eminem since 2004's Encore.
Crack A Bottle now becomes the third best selling download single. It sits behind Lady GaGa's Just Dance on 419,000 and Flo Rida's Low on 467,000"
I'm so done with this subject. Now it comes out that Terry Bradshaw did steroids to recover from injuries back in his playing days. I applaud Bradshaw for saying this without anything to gain. It helps all the ridiculous controversy with current players and everlasting arguments over stats. All anyone cares about is the precious record book. YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE NUMBERS!! I don't care if McGwire, Sosa, A-Rod or whoever are on enough drugs kill Keith Richards. The problem is you can not selectively change or remove statistics based which records we like best. This will create a domino effect that never ends.
Say you wipe out only the stats of the players who have admitted to steroid use. And keep in mind, players like McGwire, Sosa, and Clemens have never admitted to using illegal substances. Ok, so do you then only take away the stats for the years they used it or their entire career? Do you then also take away individual awards like MVP's, batting titles, etc? What about championships? If a player or players on steroids helped win a championship do we now strip a team of their rings? If so I hope the entire 1989 Oakland A's team knows exactly what pawn shop they hocked their rings at.
Also, what about other supposed "clean" players whose stats were inflated because of their steroid using teammates. How do you account for all the RBI's non using steroid players obtained while their "dirty" mates were on base? How about all the pitchers who were bailed out by a juiced-up homer. This slippery slope never ends, and the biggest fact is that we have no idea just how much these drugs actually inflate numbers. Is it 20%, 30%, 50% there's no way to tell.
The slope slides even further with all of the old-time players who took all kinds of drugs that were never tested for. Should we now say the Steel Curtain championships from the '70's are null and void? What about cortisone? Why is that ok. Hell why is Gatorade ok? It's an advantage isn't it? Sure it's on a different level, but the fact is that energy drinks, advanced whey proteins, creatine, and all kinds of supplements available at your local GNC were not around during Maris' *61. Ironic how the now impervious "61 in '61" was originally seen as unfair due to the fact that Maris broke 60 homers in a longer season than Ruth. What about all the players caught cheating with corked bats, or substances on the ball. Why don't we eliminate all of their stats as well? It's cheating isn't it?
The point here is that times change. Technology will never stop until we are slaves, fighting against the machines as we follow John Conner in the rebellion. I know how it all goes down, I've seen all the Terminators like a hundred times ok.
Now if baseball or any other sport wants to make a substance illegal than that is their right. But you can't enjoy the spoils when you had your back turned and then some 10 years later act shocked and surprised all the athletes in your league look like Ivan Drago. Let what was just be what it was. You can't change the past, nor can you move objects with your mind. Believe me I've tried many, many, many times. It's just a complete waste of an afternoon.
Punish those who break the rules going forward now that clear and defined lines have been drawn. But leave the damn numbers alone.

The QB for the NY Jets calls it quits today........or does he?
Anyways, A-Rod should send Favre a nice Valentines day gift for taking the news off him for a few days especially in NY. Well, let's see if Favre can change his mind the day after pitchers and catchers report. If he does, then we know A-Rod never made a pass at Deanna Favre cause Brett is hooking him up.
But, Really does anyone care or do they think Brett is really done?
P.S. This was really more of a post on how Brett took the Heat off A-Rod for the time being and sent ESPN writers and radio hosts shuffling to shift gears about A-rod rather than a post discussing his retirement or non-retirement.

Wow, Soon after Joe Torre's "A-Fraud" revelations Sports Illustrated actually becomes the epicenter of sports (and no it's not for the Swimsuit issue coming out this week) by publishing a story detailing A-Rod's positive test results for 2 different anabolic steroids in 2003.
I can see Mikey's reaction to this: "You mean A-Rod might have been poked in the ass with something? Can't say I'm shocked"...
Anyways, what a gripping scandal baseball has on their hands here. The potential savior of baseball is now being dragged down with the dark ages of baseball. It looks like we have our new hot button sports topic that will be discussed incessantly for the next six months...........I guess Brett Favre's return won't hog the sports talk circuit like it did last year. Just another example of the evil empire doing everything in their powers to win.......Yes, Yes, I know he was a ranger at the time but I could not resist.
The crazy thing about this is that it actually makes Jose Canseco look like the only guy who is consistently telling the truth on this matter.
Last March, Will Leitch wrote about Canseco's book, Vindicated, in which Rodriguez is tied to steroids.
As for Alex Rodriguez, Canseco says he didn't inject Rodriguez, but that he "introduced Alex to a known supplier of steroids." Canseco didn't mention Rodriguez in the first book because he "hated the bastard." He was worried that people would have "questioned [his] motives" had he included Rodriguez.
Why all the hatred, you ask. Well, Canseco claims that A-Rod was trying to sleep with Canseco's wife. Apparently, even after Canseco had been nice enough to help A-Rod find a friendly steroids supplier, A-Rod kept calling Canseco's wife.
And, in case there's any further confusion about Canseco's true feelings, he ends the chapter by saying:
So A-Rod, if you're reading this book, and if I'm not getting through to you, let's get clear on one thing: I hate your fucking guts.
It's hard to admit it, but it looks like Jose Canseco was right again.
Wow, Why does a guy like A-Rod continually try to sleep with high profile women? I mean is he that buddy of yours that is so insecure that he continually tries to hook up with high profile women just to keep up his bravado even though it constantly gets him in trouble???? No wonder nobody in the Yankee locker room likes him much.
Anyways, I'm curious to see everybody's reaction to these "Allegations." Also, I know this is off topic but I had to jot it down while it was on my mind.......this could potentially spark another post (Calling Koko) on Unreal Movie plots that smart people see through.
So, I was watching "Major League" yesterday and I can't help but wonder what coach in his right mind would have batted his struggling, aging, and limping veteran catcher 2nd in the order behind Willie Mays Hays?
I mean I don't think this has ever happened in MLB history where the hobbled veteran bats 2nd? When Jake Taylor gimps through that bunt at the end of the game was that all part of Coach Brown's master plan? I just don't think there is any coach that would bat Willie Mays Lead-off and then Jake Taylor 2nd?????? I mean that might have been a decent spot for Dorn but not Taylor????
I'm sure many of you have already heard about this but for those that have not, Christian Bale ripped a DP (Director of Photography) on the set of the new Terminator film a couple of months ago and the audio got out.
I would've let him hit me as many times as he wanted, and then CHING CHING!!!
