Was anybody else blown away recently when the Ken Griffey Jr. 600 HR watch started with little to no fanfare whatsoever? I mean at this point it really is not that earth shattering that someone has hit 600 dingers ( I love any excuse to use Dinger outside of my name) in their carreer but what astounded me was the list he was joining in the 600 HR Club.
1. Barry Bonds
2. Hammerin Hank
3. Babe Ruth
4. Willie Mays
5. Sammy Sosa??????
6. Ken Griffey Jr
Obviously, the baseball fan has grown tired and leary of any HR race ever since Mark Mcgwire and Sammy Sosa were battling it out for Roger Maris sacred record. It was the last time baseball fans truly got caught up in a baseball moment (other than Red Sox VS Yankees). I remember exactly where I was when McGwire broke Roger Maris' record and even remember who caught the ball. Tim Forneris was some dopey Field Crew guy that caught the ball and gave it back to McJuicy that night in a big ceremony and I think he got like a Chevy Mini Van or something for doing it. But remember back then when we had no clue about what had sprung baseball back onto our national radar was the same thing that would rake it's hallowed name through the mud so many years later.

Anyways, back to my point of this post.......First of all One can only wonder what Griffey would have accomplished in his career if he would have stayed healthy or Juiced? I mean it is a legitimate question on to what heights he could have soared to had he rubbed some Flax seed oil and maybe down the road "MisRemember" if he did so or not. Also, my primary reason for making this post is that I can't beleive Sammy Sosa is a member of this exclusive club. How did he sneak into it? I mean if you were to name the top 6 HR hitters of all time in MLB history you surely would not think of Sammy....would you????? Look what Roids did for this guy.........Unbeleivable.
Anyways, a big congrats to Griffey for doing it the clean way.......but I wonder if he is pissed that Sosa is ahead of him................and I guess we can only count down the days till Koko's boyfriend starts climbing up the chart on his way to #1.

That purse slapper!! Nice post.
Forget A-Rod. Does anyone realize that Jeter is ahead of Pete Roses' pace for the hit record?
In 10 years the Yanks will own all the records again.
Who is to say the Griff wasn't on the juice, certain roids don't focus on big muscle building , my buudy played high school ball with ARod and says he was doin it in high school.
In my mind they all did it, it's just a part of modern athletics, you do what you gotta do in order to be promised a spot at making millions, it never bothered me much , back then they used stuuf to give them an edge, the thing is nowadays there is better things available.
I still enjoy all sports and celebrated B Bonds record breaking HR, because at the end of the day it's the games I love
I agree Juan you don't know if Jr. did it or not, but since there is absolutely no proof or even allegations of it you really have to assume he did not until otherwise proven so.
If we just start to label everyone as a juicer it leads down a slippery slope. It's not fair to put stigmas on people when there is not even a slight shred of evidence against them.
With this NBA stuff we could also just go ahead and say that all refs have been paid off. Although more than likely Tim Donaghy was not the only corrupted ref, it's not fair to say all refs are dirty becasue of it.
Yeah that's why I didnt say he actually did it , and im not assuming, instead just really going on the fact that stereoids ( and human growth they can still take cause no testing available)is just a fact of life and to be honest most guys are stupid not to do it in order to be succesful at sports nowadays.Proof is not always needed when some common sense is around , .....like i know that Johnny is Puerto Rican but still there is no proof !
That was kind of my point.....why it should be noted that Griffey most likely did it without any juice cause if he did juice it he would not have spent the last decade on the IR.
But to the fact that without Juice Sammy Sosa probably would never have made it in the league.....so obviously I think his life is tremendously better for having done it..........yeah there are some haters now....but come on he is millions of dollars richer.......and it is better to have loved and lost rather than to have never loved at all.
Yeah you did Juan, quote, "In my mind they all did it." I just don't think that's fair for all the athletes that broke their ass and made it to the majors by playing totally clean.
And Johnny deserves the same benefit of the doubt. At least until we get him on a paternity episode of Maury Povich, with Sandy Johnson waiting backstage.
That would at least disprove the Puerto Rican allegation and explain so much more at the same time.
