Here's my article for the 2012 Academy Awards this Sunday.
Now Regs, I take no responsibility for any financial losses you might incur.
However I would like to take FULL responsibility for any gains.

Dude. The only ones you got right were the ones that were so heavy favorites that it didn't make any sense to bet. For example, you need to bet $100 on Plummer to win $1. And you needed to bet $150 on "The Artist" to win $1.
The Oscars are so dumb these days. It seems like the only way to win is to make your movie as long and boring as possible. Oh it doesn't hurt to be set in a foreign country either.
I say there needs to be 2 rules before a movie can even be nominated.
first- Go to Times Square and ask 20 random people if they have ever seen the movie in question. If at least a third say "no", that movie is eliminated. I'm not saying that box office should be the sole criteria but creating a movie that people are at least willing to go out and see has some merit.
second- If the movie passes the first test, ask those people who saw it if it was the "best" movie they had seen all year. If half say "no", the movie is out.
At that point they can use whatever other criteria they use to determine the nominees and put the remaining up for a vote.
I only got 2 wrong Regs, sorry I couldn't be flawless. I also picked 3 more categories than I did last year and got all of those right.
6-2 is not exactly bad, and absolutely zero people predicted Streep to win. That came out of nowhere.
And since you obviously did not bother reading the entire article I wrote on the picks, I can assume you did not even watch The Artist but seem to feel comfortable enough to just blast it anyway.
It was not boring, and it was not set in a foreign country. It's a fantastic film.
All of the best picture nominees were totally deserving of their nomination except The Tree of Life. The 2 films that got snubbed from the category was Drive and The Beginners. But neither of those deserved to win anyway.
And yeah Times Square, guaranteed to not get anyone to mention a foreign film in that crowd, right?
You are BRILLIANT!
Stick to the NFL Draft dude, film seems to be too highbrow for ya.
