When you balance your checkbook at home do you then have to submit it for a vote in 2 houses of congress?
Great analogy, asshat.
People who don't want to think or take a real look at what's going on in this government would rather just pretend they're all ostriches and keep their heads in the sand. When the real reason why nothing is getting done is due to an unparalleled, unprecedented and outright vendetta that many members of congress have against our president. Even if they agree with his policy, they are now voting against it out of spite. Our government has turned into a teenage cheerleader that just got dumped by the quarterback.
The Republican and Centrist Democratic Senators just voted down Obama's Jobs Bill, here's what was in the bill:
"Obama's bill was a mix of tax cuts and new spending aimed at spurring job creation in the short term. It included $270 billion in payroll tax cuts and other tax relief, along with $175 billion in new spending on roads, school repairs and other infrastructure projects, as well as an extension of unemployment benefits and aid to local governments to prevent impending teacher and police layoffs.
During floor remarks before the vote, Senator Webb said he couldn't support the bill because of its proposal to offset costs by raising taxes on the wealthy. The bill includes a 5.6 percent surtax on households earning more than $1 million as a way to pay for the package. Obama's bill originally proposed raising taxes on people with an annual salary of $200,000, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) upped the income level to bring reluctant Democrats on board with the offset."
These are the people the country voted into Congress to "fix" things. A bunch of mindless drones that will do everything possible to keep any tax increase on the wealthy from happening, no matter the cost to the middle class or the country.
Nothing more then a rap career in need of some publicity. The guy clearly has no idea whats going on in the world. "Mr. Responsibility" i'm sure. I wonder how far back he is on child support? PAY YO BILLZ!!!
I think everyone in Government needs some common sense. They always act like everything is soooo complicated and nobody understands anything.
Which is funny considering most of them are idiots and don't even read bills that are put before them.
Probably the most blatant example is that chick Pelosi who marched herself in front of "Obamacare" and then later admitted that she really had no clue what was in it and hadn't even read it.
I think it is pretty safe to say that the current regime has lost its way and things are not getting better.
They need to start offering goverment 101 classes for all elected officials and make them manditory

That's how it is!
I know the title of this video has Obamas name on it, but I meant it as a jab to our government as a whole.
Even if it were directed toward Captain Kangaroo, it's still an overly simplistic and lazy rant by someone who is doing nothing but being loud.

You know Regs I wish that were true, because at least then you could blame it on ignorance.
Sadly, it's the real reason why nothing is getting done is very cold, calculated, and with zero regard for the citizens of this country.
Winning an election has become infinitely more important than progress.
