Reger Rant

Posted by Regs

-So, the first thing that I have to rant about is the fact that I don't have "featured article" status on this blog. I call political racism or politicism. 4 out of the 5 people on the featured articles link never post anything. I have homeruns in 3 straight games and more importantly, our team is undefeated. Would it kill you, Keith if you did a recap? "Kluges chronicles"? joke "Blaze is burning"? please. Goat? whatever.

- My company (one of the largest medical device companies in the World) just announced that our health care premiums would increase next year. I thoughjt Obamacare was supposed to reduce the insurance burden on average citizens. Apparently somebody forgot to tell Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Thank God we only have 1 more year of these lies and incompetencies.

- I wonder if it is bad for the NFL to have a team that is so dominating that they have virtually no chance of losing. It is almost like a cat and mouse game these days with Mike McCarthy. They are like the modern day Milton Bearle. They only pull out what they need. I watch plenty of football on Sunday and it must be disheatening to know that the upside to any teams' season is second place.

- Once again the BCS is turning into a complete joke. How great would it be to have a 8 team playoff going all out for a championship. The fact that a team can lose 1 bullshit game and be eliminated is completely unacceptable.

- Does anybody care that the NBA season is in jeopardy? I'm not saying nobody cares about professional basketball. But the model (like social security) is not economically feasible. The players make way too much money for way too long and have very little incentive to go all out. They get their money and stop trying (just like Chris Johnson) Make players earn their money and you will see a much better product.

- Go Rangers! Fuck Cardinals!

- When was the last truly great movie? We pretend like movies are "classics", but they are not. We talk ourselves into them and make comparisons but they fall short. Is it a lack of talent or originality? Do me a favor...Watch Pulp Fiction, or Forrest Gump, or Saving Private Ryan and tell me that anything in the last 5 years even compares.

You might not want to crown the Pack this years Champs just yet......(see 2007 Patriots). They thought they had a pretty good team too :(

Also you might want to except the fact that your worst nightmare of Obama being re-elected is not only very possible but also VERY LIKELY! (see retarded/crazy Republican nominees) It might lessen the shock when it happens. And this time he won't have to worry about getting re-elected....OH THE HORROR! (You might want to build some sort of bunker for those 4 years so you can ride it out in safety.)

The NBA players have to cave eventually. They have absolutely no leverage whatsoever. The owners are loosing money. Its a pretty watered down league at this point anyway with average players making superstar money. I remember the good ol' days of the 90's when basketball was great! Its fun to root against Queen James and all but basketball just aint what it used to be.

And Fuck Texas, go St. Louis!

First of all Regs, if you want a featured article all you had to do is ask for it. You've never said a word to me about it, ever. You weren't expecting a hand out were you?

Now to your increasingly worsening case of dementia. Do you think you live in old England? Do you know the difference between a president and a king? What in the holly hell does Obama have to do with a private company like Blue Cross/Blue Shield raising their rates?

They do that because they want to make more money. Period. Not because they have to, not because they are in dire straights, it's because insurance companies are the most unscrupulous entities on the planet.

Obama tried to combat these companies with the public option. Remember that one? You see that would've created competition for private insurance companies, forcing them to lower their rates. But we all know why that didn't get passed now don't we? And now here we have you complaining about the big, bad insurance companies raising your rates.

He's a president Regs, not a king, he can't make a private company do anything. But that's how you like it right? GO CAPITALISM!

And take a breath dude, we're not even 8 games in. They don't look better than the 2007 Pats, and we all know how that ended.

As for movies, you're turning into the old man who tells the kids to get off his lawn and turn down the rap music. I don't think you even go out and see most of the new movies. Did you see Moneyball? One of the best sports movies of all time. It will be nominated for Best Picture.

I thought liberals were all about free handouts and giving people things that they don't need. So, yes, I was expecting a handout.

My point about health care is that insurance companies react to the environment. They might be a business looking for profit, but they also have very stiff competition from other insurance companies. BC/BS is the only company that I have, but I am willing to bet that all of the other companies will follow suit, if they haven't already. Part of the argument for Obamacare was that if more people were covered, insurance companies would be able to lower premiums on average Americans. This is not happening.

I did not see moneyball yet, but I do see pretty much all of the new movies when they hit redbox. I watch probably 2 new releases per week. There are some good movies, but not classic movies that make me say wow. And "no" the hurt locker is not a classic. watch it 1 time and it is good, watch it twice and youre bored off your ass.

The flip side to this vacancy is that TV shows on HBO and Showtime have improved tremendously over the years. Maybe all of the best writers are moving in this direction.

GOAT-I don't care what you guys say, Romney is a very "solid" candidate, who is very polished and gets respect. He is definately not as carismatic as Obama, but he would bring a stability that I think the country needs. His views aren't the greatest, but I think he gives us the best chance of emerging from this disaster.

Logic tells you that the players have to cave, but they are not very logical. That is the problem. They are uneducated fools who only listen to their money grubbing agents, who have their own interests in mind.

The Pack has not even played a good game so far this year and are 7-0 without even being tested. We have had the lead at every point of the second half and only 1 team has been within a touchdown (6 points). It is scary how good they can be.

I am not pleased with "Kluge Chronicles" but our King, Koko, named it that. I wanted "Kluge Rants". Also, I wrote a few things but it seemed no one read them. I never saw a comment or anything from you. But I'm glad you care and maybe you've motivated me to write a new one.

Props on the homeruns though. Cobra Kai has been sucking lately.

As far as movies go, you mentioned some greats. But they all didn't come out in one year. Inception was good. Departed, Grandma's Boy, Snatch, Super Troopers, and Sideways to name a few.

I agree that Romney is a way more viable candidate then any of the others and I would feel much more comfortable with him as president then that the rest of the freak show. But thats where the compliments stop. He is like the average looking girl who looks hot standing next to her fat friend. Its a "slight of hand" trick. Take away his fat friends in the debates, add Obama, and poof! 4 MORE YEARS!!!

Wow Regs, just wow! You believe that insurance companies are just trying to make a buck and stay afloat from all the stiff competition they have on the market?

Listen, I have this little bridge, nothing too fancy, it's in the northeast. I don't have much use for it anymore but hey, I'll sell it to you for a cool $100. What do you say?

Do you also believe the oil companies are just in it to try their best to provide a quality product at the best possible price too?

It's the same as the banks, Obama puts an end to one way of ripping off customers but then they just find another, like charging customers for simply having a debit card. Put the blame where it belongs Regs, with the companies fleecing the American public.

And Scotty, no one's upset with the name of your article, it's your lack of involvement with it. Kluge Rants is not a good name, but Reger Rants is. And how fitting that you called me "King Koko," now I have a chance to show Reger the real difference between a president and a king.

Kluge Chronicles is out, Reger Rants is in.

You see how that works, much more efficient.

Whoa Whoa Whoa, that's a little too drastic. Since we do live in a democratic society I vote, you Koko, enable us all to have our own featured articles. you know to make it fair. BTW, have you ever seen Michele Bachmann's eyes? They are pretty crazy.

If bc/bs was the only insurance company raising rates significantly, everyone would jump ship. We don't have multi-year contracts with our insurance carriers. Democracy works best when many companies fight for business by providing quality service at a market price. Read "Wealth of Nations" sometime. It goes into more detail.

Reger Rant is honored to receive featured status. Its almost like being knighted.

Oh, Netflix has really done well since their decision to raise their rates.

Get with it Regs, they are all in bed with each other. That's not a conspiracy theory, it's just being realistic. They like to share the giant piece of the pie with each other, just as long as it stays the giant piece of the pie.

That industry takes in Billions each year and provides NO product. They manufacture NO goods. They're in the business of selling NOTHING. And then when someone actually needs the service they paid for, they do everything humanly possible to find a way to pay the least amount or negate the contract completely. They need more regulations and competition that's not concerned with everyone else's bottom line. Do not make the mistake of thinking coercion and capitalism go hand and hand. When you mix those two, all you get is corruption.

And uh, actually yes, Netfilx has done well. Don't be a drone and just react to bad media coverage. Yes, the CEO is a complete moron and yes they did take a hit. But dropping from 24.59 million to 23.79 million subscribers is hardly a company on the brink of disaster. And 1.6 million (twice the amount they lost) opted to keep both streaming and mail service, completely negating the lost revenue and saving on postage for those customers.

And the customers that did jump ship were able to because they had honest competition available. Blockbuster and Amazon are not concerned with Netflix's prices, they are trying to put them out of business and vice versa. Now that's capitalism.
