Scotty, Just sent me this email as he was perplexed that this could happen. Again, here is an ESPN stat writer simply pointing out stats not exagerating for some agenda. I know you guys think I do it to push buttons but it is simple truth.
What We're Saying
About Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter
"Jeter's ground ball-to-fly ball rate is 2.34. It's a career worst for Jeter, whose previous high was last year (1.96). And before that, Jeter had never had one higher than 1.55. 'It was fun while it lasted' is a bit cliché, but it's definitely fitting here."

MATTHEW BERRY!!!!
AAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
nuff said.
Koko, disparagin another Profesional sports writer as his only dispute.........nuff said.
Why do you always attack the character of writer rather than the actual content?
That is the ultiamte sign of a loser in any argument. You can't dispute the facts so you scream louder than the other person and try to distract everyone by making fun of the writer........ But, you did not even reference the facts.
And.....if your going to counter argue that there are tons of stats in baseball and you can find somethign to back up any claim......than please find something to back up the fact Jeter is NOT Declining and is NOT a Top Tier SS in the league......please......
This just shows how far people are reaching to discredit one of the greatest players in baseball history.
That stat is pure garbage, it's just a fly ball to ground ball ratio, nothing about whether those were hits or not. Who cares if a ball is a fly ball or ground ball if it's a hit.
Baseball if full of number and you can pick out good ones and bad one for just about any player in the league.
Jeter has a .981 OPS in the first inning, best in the majors. A pretty important stat for a leadoff hitter.
He's 12th in the AL in runs scored
He's hitting .302 in road games. For some reason he's only struggling at home.
He only has 3 errors, 2nd amongst all full time shortstops and .984 fielding percentage, 6th best in all of baseball.
And it's only 2 months in, pleanty of time to play up to his full potential. Will it be the superstar Jeter from '96-'09, probably not, but he will be a very productive player that helps the Yanks win every day.
16 hits away from something else a Brewer's fan will never experience.
Man that's a long list.
Wow.....What lengths you will go.
I call total BS on Koko's Stat by the way.
And if you want to go By OPS Derek Jeters is a VERY WOEFUL .660 making him a pathetic 136th in MLB. Now that is very Sad for a leadoff hitter..............Jeter isn't even in the top 5 of his own team.
And don't try to knock the Brew Crew down cuz they have 2 in the top 12.
136th????? For your leadoff hitter???
Right my stat is BS but a fakakta fly balls to ground balls ratio it is a brick shithouse.
How convenient.
Keep the jealousy alive Keith, it's all you got.
