SUPER BOWL PARTY

Posted by Koko

Come one, come all and witness one of the greatest upsets in sports history. As the Big Blue Wrecking Crew completes their "Miracle on Sod," season as they defeat the undefeatable Patriots. . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . and if they lose, so what! They were suppose to.

It's Super Bowl Party time again. I'll be hosting it again at my place, just let me know if you need directions and I'll email them to you. Party starts at 2pm. I'll be grilling burgers and dogs. I'll have plenty of beer but more is always welcome.

If any of you guys or gals make a really good side dish, cook that bitch up and bring it over. Please someone bring Deviled Eggs, I love those things.

And don't forget to bring a $5 bill for the pool. I remember last year Jen was fuming at Double S (Sean) for edging her out with a 1-point victory.

It will also be the grand opening of the Red Sun Lounge. I'll be admitting VIP's to the lounge throughout the party. Bribes are accepted.

The post-game screening this year will be 300 in HD. THIS IS SPARTAAAAA!!!

Was Bo Jackson the greatest video game athlete of all time? I believe Christian Okoye could give him a run for his money but this clip seems hard to beat.

No Football, No Problem

Posted by J Dub

Since we are without the number sport in America this weekend I have found an excellent alternative, TECMO BOWL!

The only thing better than watching football on a chilly weekend, is playing football on a chilly weekend. Go to the link, play the game, and relive some of your childhood (or teen years for some of us).

They Run For Taste!

Posted by Keith G.

The Red Bug Lake Softball association in their ongoing efforts to bring family fun to Friday nights is looking into bringing the sausage races to the park. The Cobra Kai are proud supporters of the Race but would like to see them add a kosher meat to the race in support of our jewish brethren.

All other teamates are represented as Guido, Frankie, Stoch(Polish), Bretwurst, and the recently added Cinco the Chorizo just for Juan.

We will keep you updated on any ongoing results. Just remember....why do they run? They Run for Taste!

The Cobra Kai Way

Posted by Keith G.

So much is being written lately about how high profile athletes spend their off days that I just wanted to clear up the Cobra Kai's policy on conducting yourself in the off-season. While the off season is a great time to catch up with friends, family, work, and our super-model like girlfriends we also must stay focused on the task at hand of winning a championship.

Tom Brady was recently seen at a New York nightclub called "Butter" with his super-model girlfriend Giselle Bunchen (or something like that) after arriving at her apartment earlier in the day in a walking cast or otherwise called a walking boot along with flowers. Now I know the superbowl is 2 weeks away but why would you be wearing a cast one minute and then at a nightclub without it the next? And to boot Giselle's ex-boyfriend Leo DiCaprio was there. Man, that had to be the first time in Leo's life where he must have felt like a total schmuck next to one of his ex's and their new boyfriend.

Alot, has been written about Tony Romo spending the week before the Cowboy's playoff loss to the Giants in Mexico with his superstar girlfriend Jessica Simpson. And recently, OJ Mayo the Phenom Freshman from USC has gotten himself into trouble with the NCAA for going to a lakers game and sitting courtside courtesy of Carmelo Anthony. Mayo was at a party one night with Melo and is quoted to have simply said to him "I was talking to him like, `Man, you're out pretty late. You've got a game tomorrow night against Kobe [Bryant],"' Mayo said. "He said, `Nah, it will be all right.' And then he asked, `You want to come to the game?' And I was like, 'Sure.'

Now, I won't get into the NCAA violations here but what is an 18 year old College Freshman doing at a party with Carmelo Anthony and telling him that he is out too late? Don't you think he should be checking himself.....I mean are you going to tell me there wasn't alcohol or pot at this party........

Anyways, getting back to my original point. When we are in public we must always remember that we represent the Cobra Kai team and every decision we make directly affects the team. Always remember to conduct yourself with class cause you never know who is watching. And the night before big games try to take it easy with your supermodel girlfriends and if you are offerred free tickets to a big game you must first consult with Capt. Tucci or myself and offer to bring us to the game before accepting because it may be a Red Bug lake rules violation. However, inviting our beautiful girlfriends to the games is always encouraged unlike TO and the Cowboys discourging Jessica from attending Cowboys games....how else can we blame bad play on our hotties in the stands?

RIP and Congrats to NY Giants

Posted by Keith G.

My Mom told me the best way to get over such a heartbreaking loss like the one the Pack suffered to the NY Giants is to write about it. I want to send very hearty congratulations to the Giants and Patriots who will be playing in the world's greatest sport spectacle two weeks from now on Koko's Big Screen in the debut of the Red Sun Room.

Anyways, here is a little something to commemorate a great season by my hero Brett Favre and the pack.

It's easy to hate the New York Yankees if you're a Boston Red Sox fan, and vice versa. The same goes for the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins. But who hates the Green Bay Packers? Really, though, do you hate the Packers? How could you not have pulled for them unless you were a giants fan?

Not if you know anything about the history of the National Football League. Not if you've seen those grainy images of the 1967 'Ice Bowl' and Bart Starr's fateful quarterback sneak on the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. Not if you admire the principles on which Vince Lombardi built a dynasty or of which the Cobra Kai have been built around. In Wisconsin, there is no other option. You are born into Packerdom here. Your great-grandfather cheered for Curly Lambeau and Don Hutson, your grandpa for Paul Hornung, your dad for James Lofton and Lynn Dickey. Every kid on your block owns a No. 4 jersey even Mikey and Seth Patriots fan or Scotty a Fins fan have one.

What makes the Packers special? Start with the fact that there are 112,015 owners, the vast majority of whom hold one share of stock. Formed in 1919, the Packers became a non-profit entity four years later and remain the only publicly owned team among the major professional sports. The most recent stock sale, in 1998, netted 106,000 new 'owners' who paid $200 per share (and sent $24 million straight to the team's bottom line) for certificates that are basically worthless. The stock never pays dividends or appreciates in value. But the emotional investment is priceless. When general manager Ted Thompson signs a free agent, the fans can thump their chests and say, 'I helped bring that guy to Green Bay.' And it's true.

The fact that the Packers can even exist in a city of 100,000 is a minor miracle, due in equal parts to fan loyalty throughout the state and revenue sharing in the NFL. Los Angeles can't support a team but this little frozen outpost can? It's one of the mysteries of the universe. The Packers-Giants game marked the 269th consecutive sellout at Lambeau, including playoffs. That's every single game since 1960. The waiting list for season tickets is at 76,800. With an average of 70 fans per year giving up their seats, the guy at the end of the list will have to wait 1,000 years, give or take a few decades, for his name to come up. I have been waiting since I put my name on the list when I was 22.

The obsession with the team is such that the 10 p.m. TV newscasts in Milwaukee and Green Bay are dominated by Packers developments. The long snapper has an ingrown toenail? That leads the sports report. The price of beer is going up at Lambeau? That's the top story. Brett Favre retires? We don't even want to think about that one.

The Packers don't need throwback jerseys to evoke their glorious past. It is played out at every game. Best of Luck to the Giants and Pats and RIP this glorious season! Lastly, what about that good ol SI Jinx?

I've already won my superbowl.

Posted by Koko

As far as I'm concerned the G-Men have already won the super bowl. The Giants were picked to finish last in their division this year and now they took out the #1 seeded Cowboys in their first ever playoff matchup. This past Monday could not have been sweeter. Not only did the Giants vanquish my most hated sports franchise, (yes I hate them more than the Red Sox), but to top it off, bi-polar TO ends up crying about his lover Tony Homo. "It's not fair, it's not fair WAAAAAAAAA!!!!" Music to my fuck'in ears. Thanks for the fantasy points TO, now go home and do sit-ups in your driveway until next season you crazy fuck. All of the sudden he cares about his QB after repeatedly throwing Garcia and McNabb under the bus. Psycho.
My absolute joy is in all those fake ass Cowboy fans that have to eat it for a whole year. That's the main reason I hate the Cowboys so much; their fans. I actually don't know how I feel about real Cowboy fans, because I've never met a fucking one. Do you know anyone from Dallas? No you don't. 90% of all Cowboy fans have absolutely no connection to Dallas, Houston, Austin, or the state of Texas at all. They jumped on a bandwagon at some point in their lives because they wanted to root for the popular team instead of the struggling team in their city. I've actually heard from some "Cowboy Fans," that they started rooting for the team because of the star on their helmet. Do I even have to continue at this point. If you're making life long decisions based on pretty pictures, well there's a word for you. And that word is retard. YYaayyy!! Look at the star YYYaaaaaayyyy!!!!

Gents, the team had a solid practice this past weekend and I think we are coming along sharply on our goal of a Cobra Kai championship. With the multitude of obligations demanding our time this off-season it is understandable not everyone could make it, or that a few of us were too hungover and got outplayed by girls on Saturday..we wont mention any names so we don't hurt JW's feelings.

But as the season gets closer we need to bear down and get this thing rolling. Championship or bust! Let's keep the team spirit alive and well this week making posts and rooting for our teamates favorite teams.....in this order. Go Packers!!! Go Patriots!!! And Go G-Men!!! Oh wait Koko's Giants are traveling to the Frozen Tundra to take on America's Team????? Well, I won't start the trash talking as Brett would not want it that way.

Anyways, I am on my to the Frozen Tundra this week in pursuit of a possible free agent for the team and to as always discuss Allen-Edmonds shoes. Thus in my departure from the site and team this whole week I left 2 of my favorite reads of all time on the Greivelwire link below.

The Cobra Kai article is a classic and I know you will all love. There is even a reference in there as to how come somebody does not sell Cobra Kai gear online.....Koko is a genius!!!!!!!!

Make it a Great Week!

Site Features

Posted by Koko

Hello bros. I hope everyone likes the site. I just wanted to give you all a little mini- tour of the site. I think everyone is pretty familiar with blogs. The page will list the last 10 posts and you can see all the replys or post a reply of your own by clicking on that posting.

On the right sidebar, we have the "Next Game" box. I'll have the time and date of the next game or practice here. I'll also be putting up the entire season schedule once we have it somewhere on the page.

Below that is the GreivelWire. This will be a list of the last 5 links to interesting news stories that Keith always seems to find and share with us.

Then we have the Nintendo controller MP3 player. I will be adding more songs and movie quotes to it, mostly from Karate Kid, but I guess we can do whatever we want.

Below that is the blog archive. If you're trying to find a post from a while ago that not on the front page anymore, this is the place to find it.

On the bottom of the page is the yellow media box. First thing in this is the Sweep the Leg Johnny video. Just click on it and that should pop up. Then we have our photo slide show which me and Keith will be updating constantly. If you have a photo you want added to it, just email it to me or Keith.

And finally below that is the Cobra Kai merchandise link. Just click on the box and it should take you to the shop.

That's about it for now. I have some more ideas but I have to see if they're realistic on this site. If anyone has any ideas at all for the site I'll be more than happy to hear them, just as long as they're not fucking stupid. Just try to have a thought out idea before you talk to me, ok dum dums.

Koko Out!

Koko Is Da Man!

Posted by Keith G.

Well, as you can see we know have a new forum to speak our minds and discuss our team as well as anything else we want. Kudos to Koko for the great work on putting this all together.

First order of business. Practice.
"Practice, we talkin about Practice. Not a Game, Not a Game, We talking about Practice! Not a game that I go out there and die for and play every game like it's my last, we talkin about practice, how silly is that! What are we talkin about practice? Were not even talkin about the game, the actual game. How the hell can I make my teamates better by practicing!
-The "Answer" Allen Iverson

Anyways, It looks like the girls have claimed this Friday night as their night and I guess considering we practically play softball all year long I guess we can't argue with giving them a Friday night during the off season from time to time. If anyone is interested the girls want to plan a bowling outing for this Friday night, so warm up your bowling shoes.

However, I would like to propose a practice for Saturday afternoon if everyone can make it. We must keep in mind that the Pack plays @ 4 p.m. so we need to wrap things up by 2 ish. What does everyone think about trying to put something together for Saturday?
