That is great news!

Regs....great point.

However, I wouldn't say "Celebrate" as much as the state should get back to work.

I think it was embarrassing to the state of Wisco to have to go through the recall election in the first place. I still don't know how that even came to fruition.

The Democrats cried about a Republican Gov. signing laws into effect? How is this possible....I thought you could only do Recall elections if the Gov. committed fraud or a Crime?????

All that Time, Effort...and NOT To mention MONEY that was absolutely Wasted on a fruitless recall election just crippled the state for the last 6 months.

I will say this also....I miss being part of such a passionate community. When I was home a few weeks ago almost every lawn I saw had either a Walker or Barrett sign in it......amazing how Passionate Wiso people are. Here in FL I rarely see a political sign in a lawn.....not to mention I rarely run into local True Fans also......but that is a different story....sorry.

Anyway, Way to keep the Dojo abreast of the situation and great post.

Am I the first to say Scott for President?

Why hasn't Captain Liberal chimed in yet?

Keith. I'm not sure the way recalls work and the rules.

Koko hasn't responded because he knows I'm right. I actually respect him more now, than when he posts his usual non- sensical comments .

I think people are starting to realize that there are ways to fix our problems without going further in debt or raising taxes. It just takes guts and the balls to go against the status quo.

Yes, once again Regs you are spot-on.

What an amazing capacity for pre cognative thought you have.

Was that you in Minority Report?

And by Minority Report I'm of course talking about how every time you speak you report about how you hate minorities.

NEW WORLD ORDER, NEW WORLD ORDER!

I've been busy writing a movie review. I'll get to your tired extremist views when I get a chance.

Until then you and your minions can stew in your own cesspool of fear and fabrication until I can once again enlighten you with the truth.

And by truth I'm of course referring to that thing you can't hear when you're too busy blaming Obama for the all the destruction caused by the people you voted into office.

TWICE!

Regs said...

Lowering unemployment and balancing the budget without raising taxes on anyone are suddenly extremist views? Wow, you are really out there.

Rich said...

LOL! I love you fucking guys! Anyway, I'm leaving the country to go help some people in need of surgery in Guatemala. Wish me luck, I'll be gone for the week.

Koko said...

Alexa just told me about that Rich. Good luck man. That's an amazing thing you're doing.

Get back safe.

Regs said...

Rich, you are becoming more and more like Tebow every day. I wouldn't be surprised to see you out there circumsizing babies before the end of your trip.

Koko said...

Ok Regs, now this is going to shock you. But in this case, AND THIS CASE ONLY! The Republicans have a valid point.

Now you see what I did there Regs? Please read this carefully because you are severely lacking in this area. When something makes real-world sense and follows a logical path, I will always back it no matter who the originator of the policy is.

Unlike the Republicans in congress right now who will do any and everything to block any economic policy put forward by the President just so the economy growth stays at this slow rate.

The Republicans are just trying to "run out the clock" on Obama. And it's nothing short of reprehensible. I don't want to hear the word "patriotic" from another Republican ever again. Is it patriotic to vote against policy that would absolutely help the economy just because they want to win an election? No, I would say it's virtual treason to deny citizens programs and help just to obtain power.

And again, even when you make a valid point, you still exemplify an extremist view without even knowing it. It's ingrained into your nature.

Just because in one state the unions became way too strong, you'd like to use this same method all over the country. I'll even take a wild guess that you'd like to see unions shrunk down in power to the equivalent of a PTA meeting.

You still need balance man, unions are extremely important in this country, you cannot just "trust" private companies and local government to always do the right thing by its work force.

Also, I'd like to point out the most egregious part of your rant. And it really goes a long way to proving my point that you and your party are really not at all interested in the middle class.

You pointed out "( quick side note: The average public school teacher in Wisconsin makes a $60,000 salary and got 100% of their health insurance and pensions paid for by taxpayers prior to Walker's cuts)"

It speaks volumes Regs and really shows all your cards when you state something like this as an example of outrage.

Teachers should absolutely be making that amount of money. They are extremely important and we need to lure more exceptional people into the profession. But that's not going to happen with the rate they get paid.

There is a great fallacy being reported as fact that there's not enough jobs in this country. False, the real problem is that there are not enough qualified applicants for the multitude of jobs that are available.

And why is that? Because education in this country has been cut, slashed and budgeted into oblivion. Especially in this state.

The US is ranked at stunningly embarrassing levels in almost all major educational factions. Pushing education to the back seat for over a decade and freezing teacher salaries has finally caught up with us.

Think about all the professions that get paid mountains more than teachers. Now think about how many of those are actually more important to the future and sustainability of our workforce.

Education reform along with infrastructure should be the top 2 priorities in this country.

Regs said...

My thoughts on teachers pay is that I feel like it is a fair wage in Wisconsin. To me 60 K sounds about right for teachers. They get a lot of time off and the days aren't that long. I do feel like they should contribute to health insurance and pensions.

Koko said...

No, no Reger. You got caught with your red naked feelings hanging out all over the kitchen counter.

Now the whole room has to be disinfected!

If you really thought that was a fair wage you would not have brought it up as an attribute to your point.

And they do not get as much time off as you think. It's not 1:1 with the kids. There's a lot of admin, lesson planning, and meetings as well. Plus it's not like they get paid for the summer months. Their checks are just stretched out to cover them.

Also, it's a standard 8 hour day or longer so you're wrong on that point as well. Again it's not 1:1 with the kids, they are there before the kids arrive and after they leave. I would also attest that an 8 hour day as a teacher is much more draining than 8 hours at multitudes of other jobs.

I say make teaching as attractive as a state possibly can. If they can't give them 100% of their health care for free, then it should be pretty damn close. We need to lure top-notch people into the profession and put a much higher priority on education if this country is ever going to truly get back on track.

In all fairness.........60,000 in Wisconsin is probably like a billion dollars in a real state. You have to account for the "shit-hole exchange rate".

Regs said...

If you are making 60 K and have your health care and pension essentially paid for, you are in a good spot. Not a great spot, but a good spot. You are not rich, but most people can get by with that wage. That's all I am saying. And good back handed point Goat. The cost of living in Wisconsin is very low, so 60 K goes a lot further.

Koko said...

Uh no, that's all I was saying. You were bringing it up as something that's wrong with Wisconsin and needed to be "fixed."

And if your party ever actually agreed to raise teacher's salaries to that level across the country, Glenn Beck and John Boehner would get together and literally cry a new river.

Let's call it the St. Douche Causeway.

Regs said...

The point was made to illustrate that the extreme negative reaction to the changes were not justified.

If you were in Wisconsin when Walker announced the changes, you would have thought that each family was being ordered to give up their first born child.

Koko said...

I don't live there so I'm not going to pretend to know what families were feeling. But what is interesting is that Walker outspent the opposition 9 to 1. Millions and millions of dollars contributed by private corporations and they still only eked out a win.

People are now scared that without the ability to collectively bargain, they will eventually lose what the unions protected.

I would be shocked if Walker doesn't try to cut teacher salaries and/or benefits further in the future. It's just the right wing MO.
