What a great find Rich. I've been saying that he reminds me of that Hillbilly moron for years. Thank God Reagan came along or we might be in a 30 year reccession.

I'm just excited to see who the new "Reagan" will be next year.

Amen to that! I thought you would like it.

Glad you two love birds have found each other.

I notice that Koko is laying low when it comes to Solyndra. That is $580 million that the tax payers gave for a poorly run disaster of a company. Good job Obama on that one. I can't wait for the investigation to be concluded.

Once again proving my theory that the more areas the government gets their hands, and our money, on, the worse off it becomes.

I'm not laying low, I was only up 'till 4am putting together the fantasy review.

And the only thing that ever proves any of your theories are your own delusions.

Yeah the Solyndra thing is a failure, it didn't work out even though the idea was very good and progressive. The execution was poor and they underestimated the competition from China.

But what about the fact that Obama saved nearly 2 million jobs with the money they did spend. What about the fact that the US would have lost General Motors without the money the government gave them, which has been paid back in full.

What about all of those things that did work that can only be measured by the catastrophes that didn't occur.

I have my problems with Obama, but he's certainly head and shoulders above any other candidate right now and managed to stabilize the country just a few months after it was left to him in shambles.

He gets zero credit for that and it's very sad and wrong. Only in my worst fears could I imagine what would have happened if McCain and Palin were left to deal with the pending collapse of the financial system.

Until there's a credible candidate that's actually sane and logical, you can bash Obama all you want, but he's still the best choice.

the research that i found shows that the net job creation over the last 3 years is ZERO, meaning that if obama created millions of jobs on his watch, millions of other jobs were lost. That is a nice spin, though.

As of right now, the 2 best (not favorite) candidates are Romney and Christie. Romney is very smart and level headed. He also has a lot of experience working with the other party and getting things done. He was the governor of one of the most liberal states in the country (Mass.) and had success there.

Believe it or not, this country needs someone who can look back at a record of success and cite examples of successes. Not just theories and quotes from past leaders.

Yea thank god reagan came along and whored the country out too big business, deregulated the shit out of everything, and basically set the table for whats going on today....THANK GOD!

You really see the next reagan in this group? Ohhh! Your not talking about the reagan during his presidency, your talking about the later years. The reagan who flung his shit around the room and yelled at the desk lamp to "Tear down this wall Mr. Gorbachev! Yea I see that in the republican nominees too.

Winning this years republican nomination is gonna be like coming in first place in the "Special Olympics".

Right, I love revisionist history, like Regan was some epitome of Republican ideals.

You guys are all suffering from multiple personality disorder. Regs you and the rest of the confused republicans say you don't like government involved too much in people's lives, meanwhile there couldn't have been more of a big government guy than Regan, with W coming in second. Hell, the only real honest to god republican in my lifetime was George H Bush, and even he had to go back on the whole no new taxes thing.

Obama deserves a fucking monument dedicated to him in DC just for keeping us afloat after inheriting the Titanic. But he'll never get any credit for that. Those first 6 months of his presidency might be the most important in our lifetimes. Actually, no, it is the most important in our lifetimes.

People still do not realize just how close we came to a complete and total collapse of our financial system.

The big problem with the republicans (besides the rampant closeted homosexuality and dementia) is there "all or nothing" attitude and the fact they like to deal with "what if's" and "Could be's" instead of the actual real life problems right in front of their faces.

They have the mindset and I.Q. of a small, bratty child.

Nice fear mongering Koko. Which happens to be one of your main criticisms of our party. On the verge of collapse? And it was Obamas' supreme leadership that prevented it? come on? What a joke.

Let's get one thing straight. The Republicans are not unwilling to work with Democrats in order to get something done... They are unwilling to work with Obama because he is an idiot with no experience, who has never run a company, or balanced a budget, much less an entire country. Who seems to change his mind every day.

Credibility and respect in any career is accomplished by a proven track record of success at lower levels. When you have none, you don't get respect and people discount your opinions.

We need a leader who can cite examples of successes and work towards the same success. Romney has built businesses and balanced large budgets. He has been in charge of an entire Olympics.

It's incredible how when things actually are at a dangerous point, like when Obama first took over or just recently when the debt ceiling needed to be raised. You guys are all relaxed, sitting back with a martini, saying "Ah, everything will be fine. What's the worst that could happen?"

But when there really is no danger, or at least none that can be controlled, it's Defcon 1, wrap your children in shrink wrap, get the gas masks and better hope grandpa filled the bunker with enough Spam.

I think the common denominator is the lack of caring or respect for the rest of the world.

If our dollar lost its value with the rest of the world, it would be catastrophic not just hear but all over the globe. Maybe even more so. But Republicans treated it as an opportunity to keep more tax cuts for the rich.

Thanks for looking out!

And can we please stop with the whole "Obama has never run a company so he doesn't know what he's doing"

Actually anyone using that analogy doesn't understand how to use analogies. They are supposed to compare two similar situations.

How in the hell is being President of the United Stated like running a company? In a private company, the goal is to turn a profit, first and foremost. Cut costs, low overhead, cut out the competition. Why would anyone think that relates to running a country?

Running a government is about providing for the people, it's not suppose to be a Fortune 500 company.

Regs said...

It is much easier to look out for the well being of the people when you are dealing from strength or a surplus.

And yes, running a government is like running a business. maybe not a traditional business, but a business none the less. You have assets and you have liabilities. It is up to the government to decide how the assets are utilized. The government invests its money and does look for a return. When the government gives money to a company or any entity, it expects that company to thrive and grow, which, in turn creates jobs. When those investments (Solyndra and the entire banking bailout) become a disaster, everyone loses.

Respect by your peers and trust does not come from a title, it comes from experience and success. That is not exclusive to the private sector, that is human nature.

I will say this very clearly. The economy starts to grow when consumer confidence is restored. When people feel confident that they can invest safely and buy products and services, that causes a chain reaction, which leads to companies selling more products and services. When more products and services are bought, companies need to expand their production and distribution, which creates "real" jobs and careers.
Anything else is just a band-aid on a huge gash.

Right now, people are sitting on their money because they don't know what is up ahead. They don't trust Obama. Until that changes, it doesn't matter what plans are laid out.

If confidence is the goal, then I would suggest the Republican party recruit some candidates that don't make me want convert all my assets to gold, grab Doc Brown's Delorean and open a saloon in 1885.
